A great kit! Actually now i know i need more of the smaller type FIDS. This kit will last a lifetime. Good quality product. Easy to use.

I've been splicing lines for years, but I thought I'd try this design to splice several 1/2" lines. While I never really had an issue with traditional fids, I have to say that these are easier to use. They're stainless steel with a beautiful smooth finish. The only negative is the price. When you look at what you're getting for your money, they seem overpriced. Then again, I'm sure these aren't being sold by the thousands every month.

I used these for splicing 3/8 Amsteel / dyneema. They make it easy to splice hollow braided line.

Bought this product in case I ever needed to put a rope together. Coincidentally I recently bought a spool that was poorly spliced together and it came in handy. Can’t go wrong with the variety size needles.

Appears to be the fid brand used by professionals. Quality stainless doesn't snag. Good assortment for most sizes of rope. Very pleased.

These are great quality fids, but unfortunately the instructions that came with them are only in French. I probably should’ve taken a star off for that since it wasn’t disclosed in the listing, but I didn’t. The fids are really smooth and are of fine quality. Haven’t had the chance to try them out yet, but am going to try them out soon.

For their functionality, definately 5 stars. The price is unfortunately, even for boating stuff, a bit on the high side. I'm hoping to do a follow-up review in 50 years time in which I say that they are still working well. Otherwise "ouch". Though I did keep them and they are very nice to use.

This kit has most sizes of fits to work with all common size ropes. A little tricky to learn the steps to make the perfect eye but after a couple of attempts, I got it. Great quality stainless steel. Edit: after using this set a few times, I have discovered a flaw that is really annoying. The fids are rolled stainless steel and there is a small gap where the rolling comes together. This created a horrendous problem when I use them on double braided dock rope because when feeding the fid through, the fine core strands become lodged in the "crack" and bunch up in the process totally screwing up the splice. I will probably toss these in the recycle bin and purchase a set of finds that do not have this defect. Pity as they were quite expensive. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product.

Very impressed with the quality of these fids. The instructions supplied with photos was also a great help. Only negative is that I believe they are over priced.
