I was glad that everything came smashed down and then inflated after taking it out of the packaging. I do wish I had bought a larger bag however, as I could have used a little more to fill up the two chairs a little more.

After reading a few reviews I decided to buy the 5 lb bag as I needed to add stuffing to a couple of bed pillows, 2 rear sofa cushions and 2 round sofa pillows. The 2.5 lb bag would have been plenty. I think the 5 lb bag would nicely fill a whole large bean bag chair. I've got tons left over. The small cubes are super soft and don't show through the fabric easily. Very nice and worth the price.

I bought this to stuff a pouf hassock. It didn't work and the reason may hold true for other projects. It filled the pouf up beautifully (it's about 17" high) but when I tested it out my feet almost sank to the floor which kind of negated the benefit of the pouf. It expanded back into shape but clearly wasn't going to work so I had to throw it away. I think part of the problem is that this is not a high density foam. Were it more dense it may have less compaction. Bottom line....used the Styrofoam balls and I was good to go.

I got a new headboard pillow a few months ago and loved everything about it except that it is understaffed. When this arrived I was amazed at how compact and very heavy this was. It was wrapped and vacuum sealed extremely well. This was just what I needed to increase the stuffing in my pillow. The one thing that I would have been more impressed with is the sizing of the stuffing. I personally would have appreciated larger pieces. There is nothing exceptional about this it is standard stuffing. It met my needs allowing me to achieve the perfect amount of shape and support with about half of the 5 pound bag left over for future use. It’s a good purchase at a fair price.

So I got this to use some of my old pillow cases that I no longer want to use for their intended purpose. In doing my part to reduce/reuse and recycle I'm going to reuse them to make my own custom size pillow inserts that are filled for my personal preference. I will stuff them inside some faux fur pillow covers I recently got here on Amazon too! LOLAlthough I do not want rock hard pillows, I also hate pillows that just go flat on you and do not really give you any support. This should be a win win and work out just great! LOL.This does come highly compressed and I did not notice a super strong odor either. Yes there is a smell though as is usual for new produced with this type of product, and when you open it you really need to let it sit out for a couple of days to fully fluff back up, rough it up every now and then.... before you use it. This will help to give you the most accurate feel when you stuff things with it.I think the value of this VS the price is more than OK. I'm just tired of the old type of batting fluff/down alternative type filling that goes flat, clumps/balls up when you launder it... So can't go wrong to give this a try. Maybe a combination of the two together is the way to go? And right now the 5 Lb amount of it has a 20% off coupon!
