WiltonHeavy-Duty F-Clamp, 12" Opening, 5-1/2" Throat, 2660 Lbs. Clamping Force (Model GSM30)

Just received clamp today. Impressed with its construction however the roll pin that holds the clamping face on fell out the 2nd time i used it and got lost on the floor. A simple tack weld should prevent that the next time.

But I was pleasantly surprised. I had recently purchased two 4" welding f-clamps from HF which I thought were nice for the money. These were 3x the cost. Alcohol influenced my decision to purchase these wilton clamps because I needed 2 more of this style. I have to say they are more than twice the weight, the build quality of the mechanism and screw is far more robust. I think there is that much more value in the wilton clamp that they are worth the premium. I would buy them again. That said, I also think the HF clamps were a great deal and will be put to work, but for more critical applications the wilton clamps will be more fit for purpose. I recognize that a 5" clamp will be a bit bigger than a 4" and so not a 1-1 comparison, but the difference in quality is very apparent irrespective of the clamping range difference. Amazon had the best prices as well.
