Facts about the sleeves - Some helpful information when choosing a SCOTTeVEST
I sometimes leave reviews just to point out a particular feature or fact about a product that may not be covered. For this one, I want to mention two things about the sleeves. First, it's cool how they have created this magnetic flap connection so you can convert it to a vest without having to deal with zippers. Zipping off sleeves is annoying and zipping them on is even more of a pain. This magnet method is quick and clever. However - I accidentally undid the magnet connection when trying the jacket on a couple of times. The whole sleeve didn't come off, I just patted it down again and the magnets connected. You'll need to be a bit deliberate when you put it on. I think if you just pay attention, you're good. This is not going to be a jacket you want to carelessly and aggressively jam your arms through. The other thing that sort of surprised me was how thin the material is on the sleeves. It's noticeably thinner than the rest of the jacket. I think it's just a single layer. I recognize that the vest portion of the jacket is full of pockets for all the storage but it's a big change from the body of the jacket to the sleeves. It's not that I think it will rip - the material is strong. It reminds me of some safari quick-dry pants I used in Africa a few years ago. Very thin. light but tear resistant. The jacket lacks consistency in material.I did end up returning it and going with the Men's SCOTTeVEST Jacket - 25 Pockets - Travel Clothing BLK L . It's the same price. To me, it's a lot nicer looking jacket. The material is less raincoat-like but still water resistant. The entire body and sleeves have a consistent feel. Plenty of pockets of course. For me, the bottom line seems to be whether or not you want those quick release sleeves. If you think you will be going from jacket to vest more often, go with this one. If not, the Men's SCOTTeVEST Jacket - 25 Pockets - Travel Clothing BLK L is much more like a traditional jacket with a clean, consistent look.

ALMOST Perfect
Lots and lots of pockets. Handy pockets that will do well when traveling. Detachable sleeves attached and detached with relative ease. I liked the stowable hood and water-resistance - this makes useful for wearing under a range of weather conditions. It also provided wind-resistance.Now the "almost" parts. The sleeve cuffs are not well-thought-out - there's not enough hook-and-latch fastener material to really close-up the cuff. The phone pockets do NOT fit an iPhone "plus" model phone, even without a protective case. An iPhone 5 in a Lifeproof case did fit - unfortunately, that isn't the model I carry. The iPhone 6s+ in Lifeproof case fits in the user-left exterior pocket and in the digital camera pouch. The elastic strap to hold a water bottle seemed to only fit a 500-ml small bottle of water and lacked enough elasticity to accommodate any other bottle system (such as a Vapur bottle or steel bottle). The key strap is also in the same pocket and I would be concerned about having a plastic bottle on top of your keys. The zipper that came with this vest has difficulty unzipping - something that will hopefully work itself out with use (pulling on the bottom of the zipper, zipping up a bit THEN down works - so far). The label on the product says there are two "change pockets" - still trying to find those 😊

Good quality/lots of pockets
This seems to be a well made garment. There are lots of pockets inside and out to stash things when traveling or any other time. My only negative it that wrinkles do not come out well. When received it was packed in a wad and very wrinkly. I washed it as instructed, dried it on a hanger, but there a still many wrinkles. It is not yet the season to wear it where I live so I don't yet know if it will straighten out with use.

Great vest, warmer than expected.
Very nice vest. I was concerned about the zippers when I read the reviews, however I have found them very good. I picked this model because of the sleeve set up and I am very pleased with them. The only disappointment is that it is warmer than expected and the pockets are smaller, tighter than they need to be. The phone is not opperateable through the “mesh” pocket, it is very easy to read the screen but impossible to effect it and it is so tight that it’s hard to get out when it rings. IPHONE 8+ is the size being used. As I live in south Florida, looking forward to winter to enjoying using it. Suggest that Scottevest produce a single sheet that shows the pockets and what they recommend to carry in in them and what their little symbols mean.

What are you waiting for?
Always love SCOTTEVEST! I owned about 5 of them now, including the Tropiformer. So far, Tropiformer does the job and the black color fits the bill (as it works for every wardrobe that I wear). Just recently use it during one rainy day and the so called “water resistant” really does work! AWESOMENESS! Highly recommend ALL of the SCOTTEVEST product and my next one will be the hooded sweater (as soon as I save money for it)...

Amazing how much stuff I can load inside and it ...
Took the jacket out for a spin yesterday. Amazing how much stuff I can load inside and it doesn't make me feel like the marshmallow man. Just for reference I had a iPhone, iPad Pro 10.5, Nintendo Switch, 2 pens, 1 water bottle, bunch of keys, power bank, 3 in 1 charging cable, wallet, travel pillow inside at the same time.It was a humid and rainy day so the quick detachable sleeves came off easily when it was hot and relatively quick to put back on when it started to rain. The alignment of the magnets took a few minutes though. The hood worked well and hid away when it was not needed. It would be good if ScotteVest could include a flap on the hood as an eye mask. Overall very pleased with the jacket and would recommend it for people who want to travel "light" without a bag and yet carry your favourite items with you.

Great Jacket for Traveling
The jacket is light and has zippered pockets for everything. Best traveling jacket I have ever had.

Good jacket, but the zippers are cheap quality
This is a very nice jacket, with plenty of pockets for all my electronics etc. The only problem is that it has very cheap quality zippers.
