EvoShave Razor in Pastel Yellow with 2 Razor Blades Refills

This is a neat small package perfect for travelling. You get one small “handle” or cartridge for holding the blade and space for another blade as a spare. The blades are very good quality and will last a while.I see that some people in reviewing this product have said how difficult it is to use. I never found this, it’s a bit different but I think it doesn’t take that much to get used to it. I imagine those that shave legs and other areas might find this easier to use in some cases as the fingertip control might be quite useful. When shaving I have had no nicks or cuts and it gives a very good shave. The blades don’t get too clogged up either so they are probably going to last quite a while.I think the eco credentials are a little overstated to be honest, it states that the case and the cartridge are designed not to be thrown away. I think this is true for a great number of razors which come with good cases and handles. I see the comment “Since our System Razor is proudly made in the UK , we cut down on our travel miles” but don’t know if that maps to the companies marketing in the US, Canada and Kazakhstan (I genuinely don’t know). The marketing of all razors though seem to give a discount “get you in” deal where it is cheaper to buy a starter pack of the latest razor with a handle, blades and sometimes shaving cream than buying the replacement blades. Until the industry stops doing this many people will continue collecting handles as the latest idea is marketed. I hope that EvoShave don’t do this, I notice no replacement blades are currently available on Amazon UK (I have seen them elsewhere) and this needs to be addressed. I also note we are on Series 3 so I am slightly cynical that this isn’t another product that will get constantly reinvented.I’m slightly cautious but I’m giving 4 stars. I hope the blades not being available is a glitch rather than an issue and I plan to continue to use with a view that this will also make a great travelling razor (but not only for travelling)

I tested this Starter Pack EvoShave Series 3 System RazorHere's what I found...Pros ✅ having the blades held by your fingers takes a bit of getting used to - but once I got the hang of it, this makes it a LOT easier to change the blade's angle when shaving armpits and the bikini zone. That means less need to go over the same place twice - I needed only 1 or 2 passes - so the process is quicker and gives less skin irritation.In terms of shaving, the 5 blades did a good job. I usually use the Wilkinson's brand "Intuition Sensitive Care For Women" razors and it is as good as those.A big bonus - it is made in the UK.Cons ❌ the flexibility in angling makes it better on surfaces with fast-changing angles - but needs more concentration on large even surfaces to keep the angle consistent and avoid nicks, for example on legs. So I'll use this for the sites where it makes a big difference and keep my traditional razor for the legs.That way it will also last a lot longer too.Cost of Refills? This was a 'starter pack". I have tried to find out the cost of getting refills blades, but as of Nov 30th there are no adverts or prices.OVERALL - I like this - and would be happy to get it again. Delivery was next day.My Wilkinson's system usually lasts for a month (legs, armpits, bikini area) - and they cost about £2.25 each in the 6x packs, so I'll come back and update this review if this doesn't prove durable or the refill price comes in much higher than that. These claim a 2-week lifespan - so that presumably means I should expect about 14 shaves from each refill.I tried to interest the DH - without much response. I suspect the strength of this design is in its advantage in armpits and bikini areas. So I reckon this isn't a good Christmas present for men unless you want to give him a big hint about personal body grooming down there !!Delivery was quick - they came next day which is great service.

I’m someone who shaves my face and head daily, so I’m always interested in new products. This is compact and I was intrigued by the idea. Certainly, it’s great for travelling with its hard case.I’ve given it a few weeks to try and while I’m getting on ok with it, I’m able to get a close shave, I can’t fault the sharpness of the blades. Perhaps if shaving areas round the body, it’s well suited. But, I personally didn’t find it much easier shaving my face or head.The first line of the description says “ Forget the disposable and wasteful cartridge razors”. How does this razor stop that? With cartridge razors. So, forget disposable razors and replace them with disposable razors, this claim makes zero sense. You are just as well off with a standard razor.Added to this, is the expense of the cartridge replacements. They use a unique design, so you can’t use any razor head, you have to stick to this manufacturers blades. There are none currently on sale at all on Amazon.Nice idea but too many negatives for me to consider replacing my standard razors.

If you were to redesign the humble razor, how would it look?If your answer is anywhere near close to this product then you have earned my respect, this product is really 'out there' design wise. However, is it a work of genius or madness...In use (which is the only thing that matters, really) it is absolutely fine. You think it might slip in your fingers. It doesn't. You think it might cut your face to ribbons. it doesn't. You might think is doesn't shave as close as your current razor. It does.The fact that it comes in a nifty little travel case is, for me a bonus.However, all is not 5*.For starters, a cartridge system is nothing new. Other brands have been doing this for many years. More importantly, given that this is a cartridge razor, how you replace the cartridge matters.And this is, for me, where the product looses a star. On my first attempt to replace the cartridge I pulled the blade itself apart (it clicked back into place). On my second attempt I pulled the blade off its swivel hinged (it clicked back into place). There was no third attempt.Changing the blades on a razor really should not be this hard.So, an imaginative redesign of the humble razor that shaves as well as anything I have ever used but where the removable cartridge attaches needs complete redesign.

I was intrigued but also a little sceptical about this when I first saw it - I had never considered that a standard wet razor needed redesigning and also wondered if I would find holding this design too difficult and fiddly.I have been very pleasantly surprised!Firstly, in terms of the unique design - I was worried that it would be difficult/fiddly to hold and use. However, I found the opposite - it was very natural to hold it as intended (between my fingers) and easy to keep a grip on it. It felt very easy to control the razor when I shaved my legs.I also got a fantastic close shave using it - my legs were really smooth afterwards. I also managed to shave my legs quickly and the razor did a thorough job and I didn't cut myself at all. I also didn't experience any irritation during or after. I quite often get burn/rash after shaving my legs, but I didn't get that at all, which is a huge plus for me.This starter kit comes in a transparent hard plastic storage box, which holds the razor itself and two blade cartridges. It makes it easy to store when not in use and ideal for travel/taking on holiday.In all honesty, I don't actually know if the standard razor needed a redesign to become a short, stubby shape that you hold differently. But: I found it easy to use, and ended up with lovely smooth legs, with no irritation at all. For me, it's a win, and I'm going to continue to use it.

Great product. It’s nice to have a razor in the shower that is waterproof.So there are 5 blades in each head. You get the handle, and two bladed heads. Once attached, you hold the razor between your thumb and two fingers.These come in a nice and robust carry case incase you want to take these on a small break.The only downside I thought was that the first set set of blades I used were pretty much blunt in two or three shaves. It started to feel scratchy therefore I’m not sure in the blade quality. I’m yet to use the other one.The price is okay for two blades but consider these might only allow a few shaves.They are waterproof though. SometimesThey can be a little more difficult to hold when shaving in different directions. Overall definitely not bad bad and was good to trial and use.

I love the idea of this little razor. It's small and comes with a plastic hard case for the extra blades, making it great for travel. It's nicely designed and I love the yellow colour.Unfortunately I haven't found it as easy to use as I was anticipating. It does fit comfortably in between your fingers and feels nice to hold, however I just don't find it easy enough to shave with as I had hoped. It's a little awkward given you have less room to manoeuvre. I've been shaving my armpits with this in the shower and it feels like more of an effort than a regular razor I'm afraid.I also found the blades to be not quite as sharp as conventional razors - I have to pass it over my skin 3 or 4 times to get a decent shave rather than 1 or 2.

Credit for trying to innovate, but it didn't work this time.Personally I think the razor is rally awkward to use, and is simply just over-engineered. I feel you have less control over the razor and the way it fits on the fingers is just uncomfortable.It does not solve any problems of the original disposable razor, only reproduces existing problems like plastic waste. Why not create a razor that you can just change the metal blade, without the plastic waste. Like a straight razor but in the modern style, that would be more innovating. Also, a razor only needs one or two blades, why does this have five? It just feels like a waste of resources.Breaking down the razorhead and clip, at first I thought other heads might fit on the clip. But sadly none of the bladeheads I had at hand fit.Finally, I have had an eye on the EvoShave Storefront for a while and the replacement spare blades havent been in stock for well over a week now. Which makes me wonder if they are even selling replacement blades.Overall I can't recommend this.
