One of the best mechanical pencils ever made, no joke! My father (retired now) was an architect for many many years, and I remember him bringing home the coolest stationery. There have been many great pens and pencils that have come and gone from his drafting table, but this model was one he kept in his pocket at all times. I’m kindda like him now. Everything feels right and solid about this pencil. I saw the vintage colors are awesome!!!! My favorite is the cream colored one. One negative about this set is that the foam slots in the packaging look like they were made for a different pencil, but oh well, no big deal (so consider that if you’re thinking about gifting these). The pencils are still worth getting. I actually loved them so much I got two sets!

I like to sketch, use ink, and paint with watercolor—these pencils are the only ones I have been using since I got them. I am in LOVE with them. The design keeps the lead from snapping (even using 0.3 which is the one I use the most for architecture. If you use these for art or drafting you will not be sorry. Possibly not for a super heavy hand though.

I've been using Graph Gear 500s for nearly 20 years, and up until now I've only had the .3mm and .5mm in modern colors (brown and black). So I didn't buy this set not knowing what I was getting. These pencils are just amazing. Well-balanced, comfortable, the nock is super satisfying to work, the gnurling is just right, and they will always punch above their price point. Considering that my previous 2 pencils lasted so long being tossed into backpacks, dropped, and just generally treated like cheap pencils, there's no question about how they stand the test of time.The only problem is that they either weren't pressed into the foam tray properly, or the foam tray just isn't designed well enough. 2 of the pencils were loose in the box when I received them, leading to a slight scratch on the text of the .9mm pencil. That's lucky, because the text is hardest to see on the cream/beige of that barrel, but still, it sucks.

This is my favorite model of mechanical pencil already, but the only complaint I ever had with my original was that the .7 size I generally use only comes in the dark blue color. Now I've got another color option! Great set, and though the .7 is my daily driver, those other sizes do come in handy sometimes.Standard pencil quality I've come to expect in this product with interesting colors!

Great pencils, I bought because of the retro look and I didn't know which lead weight I preferred. Love the sturdy feel and precision of each. I did buy a separate eraser though and only use the onboard one if I don't have another eraser, seems like it'll get used up quickly.

they are the same gg500's with classic color, so no use mentioning the pencils, they are no different than the current pencils other than the color, but i want to complain about the packaging. the packaging is great. nice sturdy box with a good foam insert. the issues is that there is a large gap between the top of the foam and the bottom of the lid, so when they arrived, they were all banging around inside the box because there was ample room for them to vacate their safe foam homes and go walkabout during the less than gentle shipment process. a thin piece of topper foam would be great to protect what is supposed to be a collectable/higher end product. were they damaged? i didnt inspect them with a microscope, but for the most part, no. its just the point.

Love the colors they did for this edition of pentel. It’s fits nice in my hand and ergonomically pleasing. The weight is just right and all pencils write beautifully. Very smooth and easy to use. No skips or scratches. Strong leads. If you’re looking for a set of these pencils it’s worth the price! Also a little extra info the package came in not damage and very secured! And the colors are classic bold and beautiful! Also leads are NOT COLORED. They are only different lead sizes corresponding to color.Definitely recommend!

Love this set of mechanical pencils so I added it to my collection of writing equipment. Pentel always has good designs and colors that designate different size lead making it easy to assign them to different lead types when drawing. Fit comfortably in your hand like my other Pentel pencils, good quality as they have not had any issues since I have bought them. I prefer the metal grips and glad I was able to find these at a good price. Would definitely recommend for any mechanical pencil users.
