It's solid. Looses a few bristles when new. Sure you could get a defect like anything else that manufactured but odds are you won't. It's great. I'd buy it again if I ever needed another boar bristle brush. It'd be a great gift too. Comes nicely packaged and has a nice contour to the hand while brushing.That may sound kind of silly but how a product feels to use matters as much as how well a product works if it's something you use with your hands (go and find a crappy keyboard and you'll agree). Just be sure you're not expecting a brush to do the job of a comb. It' works great on beards of all lengths and can even brush a nice wavy pattern into my goatee.It's soft enough to never irritate my face as it passed my timed 10 minutes of non stop beard brushing test yet firm enough to push the hairs straight.Highly recommend, everything branded "Hundred Beard Co," I have bought has been outstanding. My fav brand for grooming products.

When I bought this a year ago it was a Huntsman Boars Hair brush, brown back, with the word Huntsman on it. I assume Hundred Beard Co. has taken over? I was lead here by my order link, so that is where the assumption is.Pros:Brush is never to stiff, perfect to shape and brush a longer beard. I run close to Sea Captain for those who understand.Doesn't scrape, comfortable in the hand, works really well.Easy to clean, doesn't fall apart.Cons:NoneI've been using it for a year and it is a good brush, I'm glad I bought it, and it was worth every penny.Bonus: The box it was received in has been sturdy enough through all my travels over the year that it is still used.I should easily get another year out of it before I purchase/repurchase another one.

Read the reviews. Some bristles fall out. Read the message from the seller. Bristles fall out the first few uses. Then they stop. This is a natural boar bristle beard brush. If you've ever bought a boar brush before, you know some bristles come out. I have a top quality one for my hair and it was the same. Stopped after a few uses, and it's been perfect for the last several years. This boar brush is no different. I've been using it everyday for a couple weeks now; the bristles stopped coming out after the first week.One comment; SOFT! this is so soft it feels great on the face. My hair boar brush is stiffer as it should be to remove skin (sebum). This is for your face, and it's quite soft. Brush before shower. Put on beard oil or balm after shower and brush in. My wife loves how soft my beard has become with using this brush.

The brush itself is pretty good quality. Others have said the hairs fall out consistently - that didn't happen with me. A few hairs did fall out with the first couple uses, but it was less than 10 hairs. That's got to be normal with any brush like this.Only reason for 1 star deduction is the smell. I've never owned a boar bristle brush before, so that may be par for the course. But it is a relatively strong, unpleasant odor. And the more you use it to brush in a beard cream or an oil, the smell changes. Not necessarily for the better. I've tried rinsing with water and letting it dry. I've tried a very mild soap. Maybe that's why other brushes supplement with synthetic fibers. It's not a strait up bad smell, like trash or poop. But it is a weird, unenjoyable one. Like the smell you might get if you heated up a dog biscuit after someone used the microwave for French food or something.Bristles are just right firmness. Goldilocks would approve.

I purchased this brush because I liked my brothers so much. Works great, bristles are stiff and a bit scratchy--which i actually really enjoy. Brushes both my short beard and long handlebar mustache (actually more of an english if you're familiar) wonderfully . The box it comes in is heavy duty and really nice. normally i would just discard any packaging, but it was so nice i keep my brush in it. Super shocked this brush is priced as low as it is. 1/4 the cost of other brushes without any obvious reason.Fairly large in size if you want one for travel you might look elsewhere.

I wanted to use this brush for a long enough time before I reviewed it, to be absolutely certain my feelings upon first use of it were going to hold up. After about a month of use, not only has the brush held up in terms of durability and continued quality in use, but my beard looks great. My beard has grown quite long over the last seven months and I was getting annoyed with losing little flimsy dollar combs every other day, so I finally decided to put a couple bucks into something considerably better. I absolutely love this brush. it keeps my beard tame, it is easy to clean and doesn't pull my beard when brushing.If you have a beard, this is the one to go with.
