Long tongs keep user safely away from fire, reach deep into barrel stove
DESCRIPTION:This is a firewood tong tool, 41" long.———————ASSEMBLY:The tool comes assembled and ready to use. An extra Allen wrench is included for adjusting the tightness of the hinge.————————HOW I USED IT:Our primary use for this tool is placing or arranging wood in our barrel stove, which is a modified 55 gallon drum placed horizontally. We were pleased to find the tool reaches all the way to the back of the drum, which is impossible to reach any other way. We keep the fire to the front (door end), but sometimes logs fall toward the back and have to be pulled forward. We also found it handy when getting firewood out of the woodshed. Logs that are up high or way in back required a stepladder to get up high enough, but that is always awkward. This allows us to remain standing on the ground and pull firewood forward with no trouble. We looked at our fireplace but determined the tool is too long for practical use in a fireplace.————————PLUS POINTS:Rugged construction.Handle grips provide comfortable use and shield user if the tool gets hot.Long handles keep user far away from the fire.Serrated grip area grabs (round) logs firmly with no slippage.————————MINUS POINTS:The grip area is rounded, and best fit for round (unsplit) logs. We mostly use wood which is split into quarter sections, and the grip area doesn't make contact with these all that well, and the log tends to wobble a bit. This is a minor issue, however, and does not detract from the usefulness.————————OVERALL: Very pleased with this tool, especially the length which allows access deep into the woodstove. It would also work well with fire pits and campfires, especially if you cannot get too close due to heat.

Could be better
The bottom part with the jaws seem to be heavy duty. However, the handles are a flimsy metal. They would be easy to bend. Other than that for the price I think it’s worth it overall.

Handy tool for tending a fire.
Tongs arrive fully assembled and ready for use. Also included are 2 Allen wrench tools. They are included so you can ensure the main bolt stays tight after multiple uses. Every tool needs a little maintenance now and then. It's long, exactly as described in the selling information. Great for tending a larger outdoor fire, such as bonfire or camp fire. Lets you grab a log and put it in the fire, where you want it. Also adjust logs already burning to keep fire going.Handles seem a little light for the use, but so far, no problems. Probably not intended for extra heavy chunks of wood. The tongs have a nice grabbing surface that allow you to pick up even the smallest tinder while staying away from the heat of the fire.Good product for its intended uses.

RAOMEIDE 41" Fireplace Tongs - Powerful Reach with a Few Grips
These Fireplace Tongs are a robust and indispensable tool for anyone managing a fire pit, campfire, or outdoor fireplace. Clocking in at a generous 41 inches, these log grabbers offer an impressive reach that makes managing fires a breeze.First and foremost, the length of these tongs is worth noting – they are big. This extended reach ensures that you can effortlessly grab and reposition logs, keeping you at a safe distance from the flames. It's a game-changer for those managing larger fire pits or outdoor fires, offering convenience and efficiency. The use of stainless steel for all the nuts and bolts enhances the overall quality of the tongs. This heavy-duty construction ensures durability and longevity, even when faced with the challenges of handling firewood and logs. The stainless steel components add a level of reliability that's crucial for a tool designed to withstand the rigors heavy use. However, there's a minor downside to these otherwise impressive tongs – the handle grips. While the tongs themselves exude durability, the handle grips feel a bit on the cheap side. The contrast between the sturdy stainless steel construction and the less substantial grips is noticeable. While this doesn't compromise the functionality of the tongs, it's a detail worth considering, especially for those who prioritize a more premium feel in their tools.

Just perfect
Okay, full disclosure, I haven't used this in my fire pit yet because it's the middle of winter, but I've unboxed it and messed around with it and it's great. It's very well made, strong and sturdy. Most importantly, it's long! I have a pretty large fire pit and I needed something that has some reach on it, and this is it. I can't wait for spring to actually put it to use. I don't see any issues arising. It even came fully assembled, but also has an allen wrench so I can tighten up the joints if needed.I don't know why a long handled log grabber was so hard to find, but you don't need to look any further. This is the one

Really nice fire tongs
Almost everybody has a fire pit or fireplace has the standard size set of fire tongs, but these are significantly longer . When you have a good size fire going that extra length really comes in handy, not to mention that the inside of the tongs are cut almost serrated to where they will grip logs much better than the old kind that most of us had. Highly recommend these.

Very thin grippers & easily bends - just ok long tongs
No assembly required out of the box. These look less heavy duty than I expected - they are made of semi-thin metal & fairly light weight so I don't know how long they will last but out of the box they work well. You definitely don't want to try to use them for anything heavy - I was gentle with them and only picked up medium to light wood & they are already starting to bend. The handle grips are a bit thinner than I thought they'd be - so I would suggest wearing gloves when using them. I wish that the center connection was a rivet instead of 2 allen wrench bolts - they come with 2 allen wrenches to tighten with use. I don't think that's the best design feature for longevity but that's just my opinion. Overall, they work fine for now and prevents me from burning myself while messing around at my outside fire pit. I'll update my review when there's anything to report. I guess I recommend but I would probably recommend spending a little more and getting something heavier duty.
