HAZARD 4Grayman(TM) Kato: Tablet + Netbook Mini-Messenger

I’ve went through so many bags for edc I can’t even begin to count, but this is where it’s at. I’m just sad it took me this long to find it. If you’re on the fence, it’s worth it.

I have been a Maxpedition fanboy for the longest time and then discovered Vanquest but neither provided the fit and function of a bag in this configuration. I consider Vanquest to be the top dog to emulate in design innovation and robust build.The Kato has plenty of well-thought our pockets and zipped compartments and I really like the subtle khaki interior color to avoid the black hole of monocolor interiors that are hard to navigate. Like Vanquest, built like a tank.Hazard4 makes a top-notch product and I have owned their unique "hard shell" packs and been happy.My only reservation is I wish the previous generation pack handle had been retained but the new variant is perfectly serviceable.

so i picked up both the kato and tanto bags by hazard 4 to use try out for my new work bag. the lockers at work at maybe a cubic foot each so i had to downsize from my 5.11 messenger bag. i like the material that the kato grayman is made from and really like the removal able front Velcro panel and i i like the rubberized bottom of the tanto. for me it was hard to get a good feel of the size of the bags when just looking at the photos online. you can tell from the pic with the flap open the true size difference between the bags because the molle anchors are the same size on both. i also decided for the pics to show you how big it gets when full. the kato holds a lot, way more than i thought it would( took almost all my socks to fill up the pockets).*cat tax

Great for carrying computer and other electronics.

Great bag for every day carry (EDC). I fit my 10.5 pro IPAD with UAG case no problem. The look and feel of the gray material is great. Does not have that taci cool or military look at all. Great bag.

I really don’t like the design. Droops when not fully loaded and looks weird. Also, the shoulder strap should have a loop that attaches it to the bag, it clumps up and doesn’t sit right. I think the pockets could have been designed in a better way. Too many small pockets

Initial impressions are that this is a fantastic bag. I wanted a smaller EDC type bag without looking like a soldier and I think this fits the bill. Lots of storage for notebooks, pens, maps, small boo-boo bag, and other EDC stuff. Fabric seems tough and there is a soft lined pocket that would be great for a tablet.

Only problem is the shoulder strap. IT's fixed. Can't remove it and if you where the bag cross shoulder on your back you get folds. Other wise great

通勤用に今まで使っていたNITECOREのショルダーバッグのファスナーが壊れたので買い替え。グレイマンと呼ばれる霜降りグレーの生地に惹かれ購入。今までのノーマルkatoのモロ出しミリタリ感がかなり抑えられたホームスパンウールジャケットのような温かみのある見た目だ。実は撥水加工されたポリエステル生地だがスーツに合わせても違和感が無い。フラップ部ポケット、メインコンパートメント、PCポケット、サイドポケット、マップポケット、内側moleシステムなど収納が沢山あり使い易い。但し、フラップポケットに物を入れ過ぎるとフラップが重くなり使いにくくなるから注意。デザインのポイントであるデカいファスニングバックルは回転ロック付き。デカい分固めでバックル解除と接続に力が要る。斜め掛けにして使っているが、ショルダーベルトの付け根バックルがノーマルkatoと違いナスカンタイプでは無いため、斜め掛けするとショルダーベルトの付け根に不自然なシワと偏りが出来る。プラ金具をワイヤーカッターで切断してBlackDiamondの台形カラビナに付け替えた。カラビナの台形効果で、ショルダーベルトに不自然なシワが寄らず無理な負荷を解消出来た。この手のバッグは斜め掛け使用の方が多い筈だから、四角いプラ金具をナスカンタイプに改善してもらいたい。この縦長デザインは、ショルダーベルトが長めだとサラリーマンオッサン臭丸出しになってダサくなるからかなり短めにして斜め掛けで使うのがカッコ良く使いこなすコツだ。
