It is surprisingly hard to find tablecloth pads wider than 52". Our table is 54" wide and this fits the width perfectly.The padding is thinner than we expected (compared to other pads bought in the past). It is as thick as the tablecloth that goes above it. I wonder if the product itself has changed since it was originally offered, as the quilting pattern on the product we received is different than the one shown in the product picture - ours has very small diamond shapes, or Xs formed by the stitching, depending on how you look at it. The picture for the product image shows bigger sections that have more curved stitching.The pad is easy to cut to size. The person who let it air out in his garage was smart - it does smell like plastic for a couple days.

So glad to find this pad. It is so easy to cut it to the exact size you need.One word of warning. Order way ahead of when you need to put it on the table. As with many items, there is a slight odor to the product- the same with any plastic or vinyl coated material. Just fold the pad over a coat hanger and put it somewhere that fresh air can get to it. Will be fine after a day or two.First time I've used a pad like this, but I will continue to do so in the future.

When they say it is 54" they mean that exactly. It covers the top but isn't wide enough to cover both edges of my 54" wide table. Also, like another reviewer said, it stank with the new vinyl smell once it was opened and unfolded. Airing mine out in the sun for an hour got rid of most of the stink.That all said, it seems to be doing its job just fine and I'm happy with it.

When I first opened it, I was a little disappointed at how lightweight it was and really thought it would slide on the table when I was putting on or removing a tablecloth. However, I cut it just a little larger than the table, so it draped over a little bit and it has worked out wonderfully. I haven't had any problem with it sliding. If you don't want a thick, heavy table pad, this is just perfect.

The product arrived just as described. Engineer hubby was a little distressed about the inaccuracies of simply cutting as you see fit, but found it to be easily accomplished and rather easy to make the edges appear "neat".

I put this in my garage for a few days after opening, then trimmed to fit my new table. Perfect for what I needed it for, and the price was right.

it is good and protecting from scratching. It is on since I purchased it.The color is perfect and looks good with the breakfast room.

Very elegant thick table pad .I am very pleased with the quality, I had to measure & carefully cut the table pad so I would not mar my maple wood large dining room table. The demo. of a person cutting the table pad is not very realistic.
