Longcils Boncza Le Cake Mascara Black

I love this mascara! I have used Longcils Boncza in brown for many years. When I fell in love with a navy blue eyeliner, I needed to switch to a black mascara. I wanted to try something different, but ended up wasting my money purchasing expensive mascaras, cheap drugstore brands and everything in between.Longcils is the best mascara, hands down. I use saline solution eye drops to create a mixture as thick or as thin as I want and never have any problems with clumping.I begin with a flat definer eye makeup brush and a thicker blend to tight line my lashes. I then add another drop of saline solution to apply the mascara with the provided brush. I sometimes use a spoolie to apply the mascara if I want a more subtle look.

I have used this cake mascara for over 50 years and have always loved it. I recently ordered 3 more, and they were not the same quality. When I dampened my brush and tried to moisten the mascara, nothing happened. It did not emulsify. It was almost as though the mascara were covered with wax, and could not mix with the water. All three packages were like this. I don't know if this was caused by a change in formula, problems with getting the proper ingredients because of COVID, or possible damage caused by shipping conditions. These packages are all completely unusable and will have to be thrown out.

Still working out the kinks...don't know the proper ratio of water to paste.I find this difficult to use

It's taken me awhile to get the hang of it, but it is far superior to any wand mascara I've tried, unless I spend over 35.00 each, and I am not willing to do that. I find that it's all about how much water I use (just a couple of drops) and what I use to apply it. I suggest using the wand applicator from an expensive mascara that you've used up. Rinse it well and use it with the cake mascara, rinsing after each application. The cake lasts a lot longer than any wand mascara and it does not clump. Important to put on more than once coat.

Quality product but the applicator isn't the easiest to apply it with. It lasts much longer than normal mascara because you don't have to worry about it drying out and clumping up on your lashes. I found that i can use a throw away applicator just as easily with this, as the one provided. great product and compact has a mirror which is a plus.

Works great but it works better with a mascara brush. I cleaned an old one and use the bottle to store saline. This is even better than the Pretty Vulgar Faux Reals I was using. It works for eyebrows but it won't replace your eyeliner. In fact it sucks eyeliner without the right brush. I tried an angled one but you probably need something like a fine, tiny paint brush

Not exactly what I expected. The cake is quite hard, and it’s very awkward to put on. I remember doing this when I was young and it seemed a lot easier. I’ll just keep buying regular mascara and throwing them out once a month.

This was my first time trying Longcils but I used to love Maybelline cake mascara until they discontinued it (boo, hiss) To my memory, the Maybelline brush was better but I am very pleased after two uses of the Longcils. It is a different look than tube mascaras, much more natural and no clumps - which I prefer and it is easier to remove as well. But if anyone at Maybelline is reading - PLEASE bring back cake mascara, it truly was the best!!
