Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest (Nintendo DS)

Aragorn on ds i had to try it, and its not a bad game.

I got misled by the positive reviews on amazon.co.uk. The game is hack'n slay a la Diablo but with very limited potential to develop your character and no mulitplayer option (well, imagine going into battle with 6 fellow Aragorns...)The 'plot' follows the known LOTR story out of Aragorn's eyes. So far so good? No, nothing good, the game though technically not bad fails to convey the atmosphere of the original story. Even if you know it from the Action-Jackson films only and not from the books, you will probably be disappointed about the lack of imagination and depth of this game. It is all about slashing orcs and the occasional wild beast. The puzzles presented are very primitive, it is all about obtaining items from killed orcs and using them at a blocked exit. The dungeons are quite linear, you cannot get lost or miss an important item.The special skills you can buy with your experience points are useless apart from battling the occasional boss monster. The game is overall much too easy, there are not many points where you have to fight strategically, it is just running at the enemy and slash'em all, they won't give you much resistance.If you like role playing games, you will be better off with Final Fantasy XXIf you like puzzles, you will be better off with Zelda XXIf you like sword action, you will be better off with Star Wars XXIf you like the LOTR film trilogy and narrow-minded games, Aragorn's quest may be for you

This was a nice game to pick up and play on the go. But I did find it a little easy to finish.A hack and slash style game featuring scenes and the backdrops from the original Lord of the Rings films with an RPG progression element to it too.This game will appeal more to Lord of the Rings fans for sure...but perhaps of a certain age say under 15s and it shouldn't disappoint older fans too if they like the RPG adventure style game.A fun game none the less.

Bought this for my daughter for xmas but had a go myself and it is a solid fighting game - good graphics & sound with the bonus of being set in middle-earth.

Not bad, it took a while to get in to the game but once in you will be hooked

when i was a child my dad bought the Hobbit PC game and i was hoping to buy something similar for my DS. This didn't disappoint i am so pleased with it it is awesome to play, a little difficult at times but totally worth it

Bought as a Christmas present for a Niece who thought it was great so good product at a reasonablerice. Job done.

Lovely gameplay and quests to complete. The music and scenery is great, and takes me right back to the films.
