Viking Thermostat Bake/Broil Part Pb010036

This thermostat was the perfect replacement for my Viking oven. It fit perfectly and fixed the temperature issue right away. Easy to install, works just like the original, and saved me from an expensive service call. Couldn’t ask for a better match!

I bought this to replace a broken stem on our oven. I had tried to epoxy it back on but it kept failing so I looked on YouTube and found a great step by step repair (the model he works on doesn’t say Viking but it is literally the same model just different name). The part arrived within 2 days after ordering and I got to work unscrewing the panels. When I opened the bag and looked at the part my heart sank because the stem didn’t look like it was aligned correctly. Even after I put the oven back together and the new knob (which I purchased separately) was on it wasn’t aligned right. BUT when I turned the power back on the oven light immediately went on, meaning it wasn’t sent from the factory with it set to “OFF”, but “ON” in the broil position. After I turned the knob the oven went off and it was perfectly aligned. Expensive part but that comes with owning a Viking.

I finally got my oven working again. I have an older Viking stove, and the oven wasn’t working properly because the ignition pilot would turn on automatically even when the knob was in the “off” position. It was risky to have the stove connected to power, so I couldn’t use the electric ignition at all. After replacing this entire part, the problem was completely fixed, and now I can enjoy all the features and convenience of my stove again. There were cheaper options available, but they weren’t original parts. I think it’s always better to spend a little more on something with guaranteed quality. Five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was for my oven. But it did not work. It kept the oven on all the time right after it was installed

Wasn’t certain it was the correct thermostat upon arrival because it was in a clear plastic bag, loose in a box, and attached label’s numbers didn’t match anything. However, when I pulled the old thermostat out of the stove it did match. It also installed within minutes and was super easy, with only the most basic of instructions available online. Took longer to clean all stove parts prior to reassembly than it did to install the thermostat. In all I spent three hours time on disassembly, installation, cleaning the stove and old parts, reassembly, plugging the stove back in and testing before pushing it back in an backing us some brownies. 👨🏼‍🍳

THe title says it all — almost. I knocked one star off because of the ridiculous Viking pricing. But this was exactly the right part, it installed easily (there is a video on youtube that shows the process on an oven that appears to identical to my VGIC305-4BSS in all except a change to the model name) and it works perfectly. Took me (much) longer to clean the oven than it did to replace the thermostat. Seller was great also — the stem on our Viking oven temperature knob broke off a few days ago and there aren’t many days between now and when we have to cook a big holiday meal. But the seller shipped out promptly, the item was as described and Amazon actually delivered in 2 days as promised. Case closed, holiday saved!

Worried that it wasn’t a Viking product. It was installed and everything works fine! Now To wait to see how long it lasts ..
