Seiko Men's Analogue Solar Powered Watch with Stainless Steel Strap SNE471P1

I bought this watch to replace a Seiko Automatic movement for my elderly father as he didn't like to fuss with resetting a watch every day. My father only wears his watch for a few hours a day which wasn't long enough to keep an automatic watch wound. He liked this watch for it's light weight and very legible numbers. He isn't very muscular but has am average wrist size and was able to have the band sized to his comfort. I would recommend this watch for anyone looking for a nice simple wear and forget watch.

Can't vouch for the water resistance or scratch proof crystal but this watch is the best Seiko I've owned and I've owned several. Easy to read and set. Hope it holds up well. The stainless bracelet is top notch also. Would buy it again in a minute!!!

This is a great "everyday" watch. I don't like a busy watch dial that I have to stare at forever just to decipher the time. Do I really need a barometer, tachymeter, compass, and stopwatch for everyday life? I like the basics on an EDC: time-day-date on pilot or field watches with a clean bezel. Being water resistant & solar makes it even better. I own a couple other solars and am amazed by their accuracy and power reserve. This SNE471 has it all! Love it.**UPDATE** Over a year later and it is still keeping amazing time. Even when there are weeks where it sits in my closet. I pick it up and there is no need to adjust (unless a month didn't have 31 days). Still going strong. I ditched the bracelet and use a variety of straps.

However I got used to it within a few days of wearing it.I plan on keeping this watch.

Mine stops too. As near as I can figure it happens when it gets too much light e.g. in direct sun light for a number of hours. Also seems to stop for no reason. I have many other solar cell watches none have had this problem. Particularly bummed because I upgraded the bracelet to a 316L SS. Don't be fooled you get what you pay for even with Seiko.

I had Citizen Eco Drive in the past, and loved Seiko watches and thought they would be just as good. It was a disappointment and stops working constantly and you have to shake it vigorously to work again for 2-3 hours. Not reliable. Email customer service and it has been over a week and I still didn't hear anything back. Will update if things change.

Après 3 montres Seiko Kinetic, je suis passé à ce modèle solaire. Seiko est vraiment un gage de qualité: preuve en est ma fidélité à la marque depuis plus de 20 ans. Si on cherche la petite bête, on peut dire que le jour de la semaine (en français) et le quantième du mois sont un peu petits, qu'il est dommage que les chiffres, bien visibles, ne soient pas phosphorescents (seules les aiguilles et le symbole au dessus du 12 le sont), mais bon, c'est une superbe montre, extrêmement lisible (chiffres blancs sur fond noir). Bracelet inox facilement réglable en enlevant quelques maillons (petit outil, non fourni, datant d'une montre précédente). En bref, je suis enchanté de mon acquisition, pour un prix somme toute relativement modique.

Questo orologio mi ha incuriosito per due caratteristiche: (1) la numerazione visibile delle ore (2) il datario settimana e giorno. meno interessati sono (a) il diametro a mio avviso eccessivo (ma sembra una moda consolidata quella di estendere il diametro degli orologi) (b) il peso del metallo. Complessivamente è un orologio che s fa amare, ed è preciso. Lo consiglio

Bought this watch because in theory it would not need a new battery... The mechanics are clearly off with this watch, and it stops working at random and needs to be reset. This started happening about two or three months after purchase

Tiene una excelente relación calidad/precio. Me encanta el diseño, es un reloj hiperpráctico que sirve para lo que se fabricaron los relojes: dar la hora, además de fecha y día de la semana. Los días de la semana vienen en inglés o francés, no español, pero no tiene importancia (mejor en español, claro, pero.....tampoco es the end of the humanity). Se ve robusto, de buena calidad, bien terminado, es exacto, de marca de prestigio, manecillas fluorescentes..... me encanta !!! Sólo llevo un mes con él, pero estoy encantado.

Als Geschenk gedacht sollte die Uhr haben:Arabisches Ziffernblatt, schwarzer Hintergrund, auch bei Nacht gut lesbare Zeit, solarbetrieben - da batterieunabhäng, einfache Zeiteinstellung.Dies alles erfüllt sie. Bedienungsanleitung liegt bei. Das Edelstahlarmband quietscht :-) - aber es wird eh ersetzt durch ein schwarzes Lederarmband, was etwas gepolstert und weiß abgesteppt ist, wegen der Dicke der Uhr und weil es wegen der Ziffernfarbe gut dazu passt.Auch wenn sie kein Saphirglas hat, so ist das vorhandene Glas gerade gegen irgendwelche Schläge von außen auf das Glas sehr gut geeignet.Das Quietschen des Edelstahlarmbandes soll lt. Uhrenfachhändler mit der Zeit nachgeben. Trotzdem ist sie natürlich mit einem solchen Band um einiges schwerer.Die Auswahl war wirklich nicht einfach. Ich hoffe, sie wird dem Beschenkten nun auch gut gefallen. :-)
