I just used a 20 year-old packet. Worked and tasted fine!
For decades, I've been carrying these to remote places all over the world just in case of a bad diarrheal illness. Last week I got norovirus in the good ole USA, at home. Packet was dated 2008. Tasted great and did the job.

Great for long runs and races
Updated info: 3.5g of sodium chloride plus 2.9g trisodium citrate actually is the equivalent of 2040 g sodium per packet if a nutrition label. This is my favorite product for half marathons and long runs. No cramps since using this several years ago. I mix a quart and use between 12 oz (765 g Na) to 16 oz (1020 g Na) depending on distance etc of this in a hand held water bottle which I carry. You get the equivalent of electrolytes of a couple bottles of gatorade enduance... no cramps. At the aid stations just get a cup of water, if anything.

Received expired product
Two issues with these: the formula used here is the older mixture recommend by WHO - the newer formula has less salt & less sugar. That only knocks it down one star. The other issue is that they have a shelf life of 3 years. The "new" box I received has a manufacturing date of 4 years ago. Thus the 1 star review.

Great for dehydration to severe dehydration
I haven't bought this product off of Amazon but I have used it before. When dealing with high humidity (80%) all the time or just when you're constantly sweating all day from just sitting outside this will help. Gets all the lost salt back in your body and makes you feel like new and ready to go again. Make sure you follow the right amount of water to packet ratio, about half a packet to 10 oz of water I believe. Don't drink a whole packet in one sitting. If the military uses it, which we do, then you can be sure that this is a product worth getting over other salt rehydration packets.
