Required for a college course, got the job done
They make it really easy to use this book by adding chapter summaries and such. The pages do seem crammed to me and that was no easy on the eyes. However, I believe that allows for this book to be on the smaller side of textbooks. Although I don't totally love the subject, when I needed clarification on a lecture topic, this book did help with that. But I wasn't running to crack this open for knowledge and definitely needed my glasses to read (especially the little captions on the illustrations).

Very lengthy explanations, depends on the class how useful. My professor had no slides, no did he record his lectures so all you had was the notes you took. Book was able to give me a secondary place to go to if I did not understand something or was just missing information. Can be a little difficult to sift through and does go on tangents occasionally but all of the information you need is there.

Good book, poor condition
It was fine except for part of the center binding is undone. There's a chunk of the pages that have pulled free from the binding and are loose amongst the other pages of the book. Pretty poor condition, but still completely usable. It arrived quickly and has been nothing but helpful to me in my classes.

I got this book as a textbook for class but it is also a really good book in general. It has some very clear and informative illustrations that clearly show many things that they are talking about in text, whether they are the anatomy of an animal or the evolution of an animal. I wish i could own this book, just for its illustrations alone.

This book presents a lot of interesting information but it could do a better job at organizing all that info. For example, instead of spreading the synapomorphies across the chapters, they could list them first and then talk about them. You can get confused if you don't pay close attention.

Amazing book. As a college student
Amazing book. As a college student, and a of course tired one, I love this book because it uses simple language and moves slowly so we can keep up with it.Really good, in my opinion

It was the international edition when this photo is the original one. Also the listing said hard cover and it is a soft cover that I was told after my purchase. It's the same book edition and is in great condition otherwise.

Has some very cool pictures and diagrams
This textbook is the most wordy and informative textbook I've ever purchased. I would have probably read past chapter 1 if my professor actually used it and or tested on it instead of condensing everything into PowerPoint slides. Has some very cool pictures and diagrams.
