Garmin DriveSmart 61 NA LMT-S Advanced Navigation GPS with Smart Features Travel Bundle

Just received this Garmin Drivesmart 61LMT yesterday. Delivery was swift and it was new in the box. Since I haven't used it yet it is hard to write a review. I can say that the setup was pretty simple and I look forward to using product. Will update review after use. Update: I have now used this product and it does a wonderful job of informing you of turns and road issues. Love the nice large screen.

I was really hoping for great things from this unit. I previous GPS was an older Garmin unit with a smaller display. The touchscreen is pretty bad on the older device and it takes a lot of pressure to enter information. The new unit is much better in that regard, but the routing setup is pretty bad. I have had way more issues with this unit sending me on bad routes than I ever did with my older unit. Many of the roads it has sent me on ended up being private roads or blocked in some way. It also seems to take longer to refresh when you make a U-tun or back up. Sometimes it simply refuses to refresh at all and you end up driving away and watching your route just drop off the bottom of the screen entirely. In those instances, I have to stop the route and restart it, then it figures out where I am.

4 stars because Garmin took something simple and made it complicated. The interface is not simple and intuitive or it would have 5 stars. Accuracy is very good and the search function works far better than my old one.

This is my 5th Gatrmin GPS unit The feat ures have greatly improved over my older systems. Even though my other cars and truck have GPS's in the dash panel, I prefer this external unit which I can personalize and move to any vehicle. If there were any changes to the new units it would be something like I could program an alert like "Hey...Dummy you missed your turn off!".

I really like this GPS. I bought it to replace another unit that was several years old. Wow! I'm amazed at all the new features this unit has. It is far and away better than my old one. The features are fantastic. This is my first Garmin but I can say it won't be my last if this unit holds up well. I love it!

This Garmin GPS (61 LMT-S) suffered a problemwhen I first attempted to update it as necessarybut after calling Garmin Support I have receivedthe proper fix (Garmin Support Was Very Helpful)This GPS from Garmin is Amazing Because It’s Loaded With So Many Features. I Couldn’t WaitTo Try It In My New Car! It Works Exactly How ItIs Supposed To Once Updated. I’m Very Pleased.
