Rit Dye Laundry Treatment Whitener and Brightener, 8 fl oz

Rit products have always worked well for me and this one has worked great it getting the stains out of the white clothing. It brings your dingy whites back to almost new and at a fair price point. I have used their products for years on those stains or discoloration that nothing else seems to get out. I would recommend and will buy again when needed in the future.

This product works great for getting rust stains off white clothes

I ordered this to clean tennis shoes, and it did a great job on the shoe but fell a little flat on the soles. It works great on clothing, though.

I had a white jumpsuit that had a couple big bleach stains on it when put under a black light. I wanted the entire jumpsuit to glow evenly, so I used 6 cap fulls of the liquid in hot water on a pot on the stove, put my garment in for 10 minutes, and then took it out. It looks the same as before (still white) BUT when I put a black light on it, the big awkward clorox bleach stains are gone and the whole thing has the same perfect consistent white. This is NOT a color remover. If you have an item you want to change from any light color to white, use Rit Color Remover.

The product title is misleading, it's NOT a "Fabric Dye", just a stronger peroxide than your basic Oxi Clean. If it weren't for that dumb title I would have given 4 stars, but I just know someone is going to fall for that and be disappointed. Think of this more as a whitening toothpaste for your clothes. A shade lighter? Sure. Is this the bright shiny new veneer you are hoping for? Nope. Sadly, it did not remove the transfer dye from where my new pants rubbed off onto my white thermal underwear. My bad. I suppose it's okay to do once in a while to remove dinginess when clothing can't be bleached because due to nylon, spandex and/or polyester. Those non-cotton materials are naturally gray and yellow, their white dye fades over time, (much faster if you bleach) just like all the other colors. This product won't restore that, sorry. It will however correct some old stain spots and general dullness that builds up over time from using HE washing machines and fabric softener. Just like white strips will remove some general dullness from your teeth that builds up over time from food and drinks, but it won't completely restore them to new. That's life. I wish I could find the white dye fabric manufacturers use in the first place!

Do not purchase this product if you are trying to whiten your white clothes. It didn’t work at all. Total waste of money. The product even pours out of the bottle with a black/grayish tint to it which caused me to pause, but I went with it anyway.

When I first used this I was stunned at how white my linens under shirts looked. You don’t realize just how dingy and grey things have become until you see them white again. I use it regularly now with my white loads. It doesn’t take much product per wash so it lasts a long while. Great to see a product that truly works well.

Extremely good at what it claims to do.

If you love beautiful crispy amazing white, THIS is the only product that does the job perfectly. The only downside is that it is rather expensive BUT I find that a little in each wash is more than enough to get the desired effect. I told all my friends who started using it themselves too & we are all very happy! Angela
