A valuable and excellent way of dealing with odors on turf
I love my dogs, and as a pet parent, I understand hygiene and sanitation is my responsibility. With that said, my dogs love to urinate and defecate on my fake astro turf, and as the weather warms, so did the very unpleasant smell of dog waste. I tried being hyper-vigilant with making sure all droppings were picked up quickly, I tried spraying the turf down with large amounts of water, and even though the turf looked clean, the smell was even worse. I figured there would be some type of remedy, and searched Amazon to find it. I purchased this 5 gallon bucket and was shocked how cheap it was considering the amount and weight considering the shipping was free. Application is simple - I just use a small Tupperware container bowl and gingerly shift/shake the contents on to the turf. I found using a shop broom allowed the easiest and quickest way to ensure the powder/product is less apparent on the surface. The durability of the product really depends on the weather, the amount of water used to spray down matter on the surface of the turf. My experience is it usually lasts about two weeks, but again depends on the amount of water applied to the turf. As far as the remnants, I have not noticed any left over or requirement to remove prior applications of this material. The 5 gallon bucket that this product comes in is leak proof and it is recommended you keep the lid on and secure to prevent spoilage/spilling of the product. The odors that was once omnipresent, have dissipated, and the product works well - there's no residual left over once worked into the turf, there is a small amount of deodorant smell to the product, but it is not offensive, and does not overpower your senses. The product itself looks like small kitty litter sand, it's white and grey in color, and easily blends in to the turf. I hope this helps, I've had the 5 gallon bucket for over 6 months, and it's currently 3/4 full.

Great quality
OMG. We have 2 mini goolden doodles. I am dissables and we live on a high floor. We have astro truf on one of the balconies for the girls. We spray enzyme cleaner but it really didnt work. After sprinking this onto the turf, it was amazing. No smell, enzyme cleans easier and barely have to use much of the container. SO long lasting.

Good turf deodorizer — keeps pet odors under control most days
I recently used BioTurf Granular Turf Infill on the artificial grass in my backyard (where my dogs spend time), and it’s been a practical way to tackle pet odors. The granular infill is easy to spread — you just sprinkle it over the turf and brush/ work it in — and within a few hours the usual ammonia smell from urine becomes noticeably milder. Amazon +1 It’s also reassuring that the infill is labeled as naturally derived and safe for pets, kids, and plants — important for households with dogs (like yours). Walmart.com +1 That said: it’s not a magic fix. For heavy pet traffic or frequent accidents, you may need to reapply occasionally, and I still rinse the lawn regularly to keep it fresh. But for “normal” use, it’s a worthwhile, low-maintenance addition to help control smells.

It works
I just bought a new house in January and needless to say the backyard was not finished so it was a big mud pit. And it just kept raining. I couldn't prepare the ground properly for the turf and I really needed an area for my dogs to do their business without tracking in a ton of mud. So I bought 150 sq feet of dog turf and just threw it down on the side of my house. Problem solved. No mud in my house. Then the weather got better, the mud hardened and it soon became obvious that their urine was not draining properly. The smell was getting horrific very quickly. I still could not properly prepare the ground yet but I had to do something about the smell. I bought the bio fil spray concentrate cleaner and this bucket of the bio fil dog urine infil. I cleaned it with the spray and that cut the urine smell about 80% then I just put a few scoops off the infill and worked it into the turf. I didn't even use a much as I was supposed to because I will be properly preparing the ground sometime this month and I will be redoing the infill. To my absolute delight the smell is 95% gone!!!! I can still catch a faint whiff here and there but nothing like it was. I'm sure when I properly prepare the area, clean it again and then use the infill again with the correct amount my problem will be completely gone. This stuff works and saved my nose, my house and kept me from being "that neighbor". Thank you!

Magic!
I have no idea what kind of magical power this product has, but after hundreds of enzyme spray cleans my yard smelled like it had 4 dogs using it for potty time every time the sun came out. I put a boatload of this infill in and even in the beating sun you can’t smell the pee. I thought I’d need to replace my turf but this took care of the problem and even my mother commented how nice the back yard is again!

Didn’t work for my turf.
Great concept but this did nothing for the urine smell on my pets turf. Comes in small pellet form so I was always worried they would sniff it and inhale it in their noses.

Magic
With 3 dogs (2 large (70lb+) 1 small) our 15x5ft dog run on the side of the house smelled horrible in this Arizona heat. I have an extremely sensitive nose and can smell everything. With the stench- I didn’t even want to spend time in the backyard. After years of trying everything and spending countless $$ I FINALLY found something that worked in minutes of spreading. WTH IS THIS !?! Here is what I did: - Pick up poop - Used shop vac to get any small pieces that fell through blades (got the idea on TikTok) - spread infill and put extra in places where they pee more - use broom to work in Smell gone within minutes. GONE. COMPLETELY GONE. I will come back and update if anything changes. But this stuff is insane. Do not let wash or get turf wet prior to applying - I read it would make it really hard to work the infill into the turf

Ineffective
Been using this for a month hoping it will work. Unfortunately, even when following the directions the smell does not go away. Will have to explore other products, but this is unfortunately not worth the investment for turf. Others have had success, however, I have not.

Works well
I used about 20lbs for 100 or so square ft of artificial turf. I used a bit too much so you can see the fill at certain angles but don’t really care because i can’t smell dog urine any more. I already had infill applied so I just tossed this stuff on top and used a broom and hose to work it in. I also use a deodorizer enzyme every 2 weeks. This stuff seems to be working for over a month now, hopefully it continues to do so for a couple years
