Important Samyang lens accessory to own
The lens station is required to update firmware and access focus settings on samyang lenses. It appears to do the job well and is reasonably priced

Useful
Managed to buy this at a discounted price on Amazon so felt it was a worthwhile investment even though I only have one Samyang lens. I was slightly worried after reading about problems some people had when updating firmware etc. However, did not encounter any problems updating the firmware on my AF-24/1.8 FE lens and it is a useful tool when using the app to make minor adjustment's to focus etc. and customise switches.

Bricks lenses but don't worry there is a super easy fix
As the title says, I bricked my Samyang 135 f/1.8 Sony version while updating the firmware with this dock. The firmware update process abruptly got cancelled at around 400/631 mark. The lens is practically bricked, both the computer and the camera didn't recognise the lens and the lens stopped working. I see that this is a very common issue with the Samyang lens dock (and possibly with the Windows version of the software). Don't worry there is a very easy fix, just put your lens back in to the dock, select the correct com port (was COM3 in my case), don't select connect lens as the application will warn you that no lenses are being found, go directly to the firmware upload page of the software and select the file and apply it. The same progress bar will show up and the lens will be updated. And viola, the lens will start working again with the firmware being updated.Otherwise, this is a very nice equipment allowing you to update the firmware of the lens and change button functionalities and do AF-fine tune. Highly recommended.

This Device Has Destroyed My Samyang 24mm F2.8 Lens
Beware this device can cause serious damage to your lenses. It worked perfectly well with a 35mm f2.8 update from Ver 2.0 to Ver 5.0 using its update, but when I tried to do the same for the 24mm using its update software to take my lens from Ver 2.0 to Ver 5.0 it aborted partway through and now will not recognise the lens at all.But even worse the lens is now not even recognised by the camera and will not focus or fire. This has cost me several hundreds of pounds if I am unable to recover my lens, for no fault of my own.Be very aware of the damage this upgrading can do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Compact, Simple to Use, Good Purchase if you own multiple Samyang Lenses
I own 2 Samyang lenses for Sony E Mount and needed to update firmware on both of them. Unfortunately, you can't do this through the camera menus, like you can with native Sony lenses. This little USB dock is very easy to use - Download Software, Connect the via USB, Attach the Lens, let the Dock find and download the latest Firmware for the lens and voila, you're done. Its definitely worth doing a Firmware update, especially for Autofocus improvements with Sony camera bodies. For example, I noticed a better Eye AF performance on my Samyang 85mm f1.4 lens.I kind of wish this USB Dock was less expensive, or you could update using your camera, but for now this is the only option.

Fixed my Lens
My lens has been horrendous at Focusing and thought it was the Body. Turns out the lens was very behind on firmware. Worked reliably

Broke my £800 lens - Not worth the risk!
It's a common issue that it bricks lenses when doing a software update. The update involves first deleting all the software on the lens and then adding the latest version. It tells you not to disconnect the lens from the station or it could break it but it just cancels the update 3/4 of the way through itself saying "Lens Disconnected". The lens then has no software meaning it cannot connect to your camera so it's just as useful as a brick.Somehow, after hours of trying SO many different things to get it working, I somehow managed to get it connected to the station and complete the update so my lens is now working! But for the sake of a software update (which I did not notice anything different), it is definitely not worth the risk! This was with a brand new Samyang AF 24-70mm f/2.8
