First one I ordered didn't arrive, but that's not the product's fault. Amazon made me wait 15 days and then sent another one first class, which arrived today.1) These scales look really nice2) You MUST put the carpet feet on if you are going to use it on carpet, even on short pile, because the scales are so low-level that carpet gets in the way and the readings are *way* off with the regular feet (for me it was 10kg less or so - I wish!). Just peel off the rubber feet (a little stubborn) and clip in the carpet feet provided. Other reviews said to screw them on but there were no screws provided with my scales. The feet seem to snap on fairly well without screws. There are no instructions provided for changing the feet... Bad Salter!3) The readings so far seem very consistent. The accuracy is quoted at 0.1kg or 0.2lb. I have mine on stones and pounds, and the readings seem consistently the same in the last decimal point.4) Who knows if the fat/water measurements are "accurate" but these also seem fairly consistent between uses. I came out at the fat end of OK, my wife at the fit/muscley end - lucky me! BMI calc seems correct (weight in kg divided by square of height in metres).5) Note: The instruction booklet says not to use the fat/water/BMI measurements if you have a pacemaker or implanted device, or if you're pregnant.6) The four-person memory just remembers the gender, height and age of four people, not their previous weights/BMIs/readings, but that's OK for me.7) For a quick weigh you just press the scale with your foot and wait for it to zero. Then stand on it. This gives you your weight only.8) For the full monty you need to select your "slot" (memory number) using the buttons on the back edge, it then shows the stored height and age (to ensure you're on the right slot, I assume) and it then zeroes itself. You step on, it weighs you, showing the weight as it goes, then displays four little 'o's as it does it's fat measurements - another 3-4s. At this point it either then just displays your weight again, or cycles through your weight, BMI, fat and water percentages a few times before turning off. If your feet aren't "moist" enough it just shows your weight. I had to dampen my feet to get my readings: my wife's feet were apparently already moist enough... ;-)9) The booklet (10 pages each for a dozen languages) says it is only calibrated for kids over 16 and the BMI/fat/water for those over 20, but that hasn't stopped my kids being entertained by it and using it anyway.Overall, I'm very pleased so far - the price was reasonable, the main function of the scales seems accurate and consistent, and it also has the whole fat/water gimmick!EDIT: 2015-07-20 Just thought I'd add that, three years later, my scales are still working perfectly. I've changed the battery once and think I need to again soon as it flashed up a "low battery" message a week or two ago.

These scales are great and easy to set up. I really like them. My wife doesn't. Why? Because these scales register a lb heavier than our 10 year old scuffed, dim displayed ones. She will not accept a brief period of weight difference and continues to use the old ones. We now have 2 sets of scales in the bathroom.Functionally they are really good, setting up the user profiles is easy, switching between them is no problem. The display is nice and big and easily viewable from a distance of, oh, 6 foot give or take a quarter inch.Just ditch the old ones before popping these in the en suite.

I am using it more than a year now. This is a very solid, strong device with intelligent functionality. A must have for weight watchers.It has two ways of measuring weight. Weight only mode and using the Profile program mode, which supports 4 profiles.[♠ To use weight only mode ♠]- To turn it on, I actually knock it a bit, just a little tap, because sometime just stepping on it didn't work.- As soon as the scale started, leave the scale alone to switch to weight only mode.- Or wait for it to display '0' before you place both feet on it.- And then just stand on the scale again to read your weight[♠ To use Profile mode ♠]This mode measures your body fat, BMI index and body water.First you need to enter your details in a profile slot, it has 4.You have to enter- Gender- height- age and you are all set. However, this settings is quite a job as its not user friendly at all.Remember your profile number. Next time when you switch it on,- you can use the arrow key to select your profile.- or you can stand on the scale and wait until your profile number comes and step off to select it.- Then step back- You will notice for '0' icons on the display and wait for about 5 seconds. This is when the scale doing its calculations- If the scale was able to measure your fat, water etc it will cycle through all the information before turning it off.- Otherwise, it will only show your weight.- Make sure your feet has enough moisture for all reading before use.- The scale will display the last stored weight before giving you the new one, but it happens quite fast.[♠ What is good about this item ♠]- Consistence in reading- I get 10 years of warranty, that is huge confidence- The BMI measurement is quite accurate- Easily cleanable, since it is being glass- Very strong and durable[♠ Then why 4 star ♠]- Does not work on carpet. You must use solid floor. My full flat/house is carpet apart from kitchen and bathroom. This scale does not work correctly on carpet, despite using the carpet feet. So bad advertisement.- Sometime it does not work unless I tap/knock/kick itMake sure you don't use someone else's profile and get complete wrong BMI index, water mass etc and disappoint yourself.This is absolutely a must have item for every one for every one should take care and control their weight.

My previous Salter scale packed up so I bought this one which has additional information on it. Only problem is I need a magnifying glass to read the instructions so I have only used the basic function so far.You are supposed to tap it, let the read out settle to 00 then step on it. I can only get it to come on by stepping on to it, then off again while the reading sets to 00 then back on to it. But that is OK. The readout is consistent and accurate as far as I can tell. Good value if you want the extra info I haven't accessed yet.

very good service , well packaged , multiple functions , but, just my weight will do for me , that’s frightening enough !..but, the scales have several useful functions ...the adjustment switch on the base for Pounds . Kilos or Stones is very little and fiddly , which is really my only complaint .

Works fine, does everything it advertises. Extra point for the impedancemetre, giving fat, water and muscle ratio and bone mass, although I don't see much change in these values.
