Germany released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital 5.1 ), German ( Dolby Digital 5.1 ), German ( Subtitles ), WIDESCREEN (2.35:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Anamorphic Widescreen, Behind the scenes, Cast/Crew Interview(s), Featurette, Interactive Menu, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: In the early 1830s Niccolo Paganini, the great virtuoso violinist, takes Paris by storm. 'I am at present marveling at the astounding miracles performed by Paganini in Paris,' writes French novelist Balzac. 'Do not imagine that it is merely a question of his bowing, his fingering, or the fantastic sounds he draws from his violin. There is, beyond all doubt, something mysterious about this man. I go to every one of his concerts. The opera house is packed to overflowing and the cashier raking in 20,000 francs a night.' It is said, in his native Italy, that to play with such virtuosity, Paganini has sold his soul to the devil. Women faint at his concerts, claiming to see a demon guiding his bow at amazing speeds. Rumors abound; he's been in prison for seducing a minor, he's seduced half the noble women of Europe, he is capricious, vain, difficult. International music star, David Garrett, makes his movie debut playing the role of Paganini. It is Garrett's youth and incredible virtuoso talent that brings the excitement, energy, modernity and wonder to this film - the same way he enchants his audience during his sold-out concerts all over the world. ...The Devil's Violinist (2013)

Fantastic
Made me cry at the end what on earth I was a wreck. Urbani was a some sort of evil manipulator. Watch it but be prepared with tissues, David Garrett was brilliant - my one problem was that Rhapsody on a theme by Paganni was written long after he had died but I love the piece of music so they are forgiven.

Fans of David Garrett will enjoy it
As a fan of David Garrett I had to watch it. I enjoyed an every minute even the main character is not a professional Hollywood actor and the whole production is not the most impressive. Beautiful music has stayed in my mind for days after watching the movie.

Brilliant DVD. Unfortunately
Brilliant DVD. Unfortunately, I did not realise it was for Region 1 and could not play it on my Region 2 player. However, Rarewaves USA were very helpful and suggested I try playing it on my computer which I did and did manage to see it. Thoroughly enjoyed it. David Garrett was wonderful, story was touching and the music absolutely beautiful. However, film was too short for me, would have liked to have seen more music and more of David Garrett. He played the part of Paganini perfectly. Hope he makes more films. Would thoroughly recommend this DVD. I even took the advice of Rarewaves USA and bought a multi-region DVD player so I could watch this again. Great service from Rarewaves USA.

Wish I could have not paid for this.
Movie was so, so.I got the basis of Paganini's life but there wasn't much in the way of a storyline. the stories also seemed to jump from one point to the next, with no character exploration of any kind.I'm sure the actors did their best but it still wasn't great.

Worth watching
Brilliant music by Garret and the Lieder were also excellent. Not much of a storyline, but I suppose that was how his life went.

Perfectly cast as Paganini !
Loved it ! David Garret is his usual stunning self both musically and physically. He was perfectly cast as Paganini, the irresponsible, womanising diva! The story is rather predictable and I have no idea how accurate it is as an historical document but it's a great watch and of course, if the music doesn't make you weep with delight there is no hope fr you!
