Finether Pruner

Bought this to replace a previous pruner that failed due to being part plastic part metal and the plastic parts broke being weakest points against metal. As this was all metal construction I was initially pleased with the quality feel to everything and felt that it would last many years.Sadly after 10 months (and probably only used for a few times when you consider winter in between) the internal mechanism stopped engaging despite having all the extension points all locked into place. Despite pressing the trigger the jaws would no longer close and a strange clanking sound from within the tubing. Tried different locking points and still didn't engage. Thankfully seller refunded as no longer available despite two year warranty.I did notice a second rod stick out of the tube that wasn't there before so something may have broke.I know this is an old item no longer available but if anyone does have a photo of where the rods come out of the tubing and join the trigger, I'd be grateful for comments and see how many rods stick out on a working one. Thanks!

It worked great for about three prunings, then the longest extension wouldn't work any more. So it's still useful in giving me a longer reach than anything else I've got, and it cuts impressively well at the length it'll still go to. The extension mechanism's a bit awkward and temperamental.

Don't often leave product reviews but really happy with this purchase - this isn't the most heavyweight of telescopic pruners but then it doesn't need to be - you need a relatively lightweight unit for the extension this product has (otherwise it would be just too heavy for most). If you are wondering if the saw works on slightly thicker branches it does - just don't be too heavy handed or the blade will stick mid saw. If I had one criticism it would be that the plastic pouches that cover the blade + cutter could be better (ie more durable) but this doesn't take away from a (genuine) 5 star review.

This tool looks a good replacement for the long-armed pruner that has come to the end of its life after many years of service in subjugating my fagus sylvatica hedges. I'm just starting to get used to working with it, but it is very good for length of extension, weight and sharpness. I definitely prefer it to the kind of pruner operated with a length of rope, which I also had at one time. It is convenient to be able to attach a saw blade to this pruner, and my long-armed saw was also a recent loss through disintegration, so I've replaced both together.

It arrived late. The tool is great when it’s working but seems to stick a lot and is hard to extends sometimes. Apart from some needed design improvements and better shipping logistics, it’s a really nifty tool.

Very pleased with the product, much lighter than I expected easy to use, have not fully extended it yet but or used the saw blade but if that works as well as the pruner then it will do everything I need copes with my over grown Holly tree
