i-Blason Ares Full Body Rugged Clear Protector Case for Samsung Galaxy S9 (2018 Release), Black

When I opened the case, I was so disappointed. I thought it was like one of those plastic water cases. However when I put it together and clipped it all in, the product changes completely. It becomes solid when locked in and the screen is really responsive. I need something like this because I have smashed every phone I've ever had at least once! This is a lot cheaper then paying £50 excess every time through insurance and having to be without your phone.

I've got a big love/hate relationship with the case. I've had it 3 months now after using a tempered glass protector and Spigen "Tough Armor" case.The look is up my street - the rubber has a nice, basic, effective finish.The fit is good - the line-up for ports, buttons and cameras is very good.The protection seems good - I've had two minor drops (from pocket height) to no effect and feel confident dropping it on a desk from a couple of inches. The raised lip may also help in a horizontal drop too!But that’s where the positives stop.It’s bulky and doesn’t feel like a £20 case. Whilst it offers good edge grip, it could be a slightly nicer finish or detailed differently.The front and back screen coatings are poor. The back film is a big more rugged and robust, wipes clean more easily than the front but does show minor key/coin marks.The front is terrible. It marks very easily, it doesn’t clean/smears very easily, it gathers dust between the raised lip edge. Sensitivity after 3 months also decreases. All of which you don’t encounter as badly with a cheap/expensive tempered glass screen.You will also find that the water “protection” isn’t great. The S9 is waterproof so in the short term, it probably won’t affect the phone. But since isn’t a fixed/glued case for the glass (like you get with fully adhesive tempered glass screens) water easily gets into the holes for the speaker/microphone and can sit between the case and the phone.On mine, I’ve also noticed that moisture has got between the front film layers!!! No idea how but I have a fixed moisture bubble just about my ‘Home’ key.Considering the above, not just moisture but bits of dust and dirt can also get in! Using the phone for a multitude of things, this can easily be done. And, unfortunately, you can experience scratching to your phone caused by the case. I have marks on the back where small bits of grit had gotten into the case through a gap, got stuck against a certain place on the phone and created scratch marks – one quite noticeable on the front screen too! The is a very disappointing factor.So…yeh! It’s a tricky one. I like it but it does have its drawbacks.It has done what I have expected it to have done in terms of protect…but it has also cause damage at the same time.

This is my second I-Blason case first one was for S6. After 2 years phone still looked brand new underneath. This case does not look as rugged as last. They seem to have focused more on aesthetics in this version not a complaint just an observation I personally would have preferred a solid case with no clear panel on the rear. Once assembled feels solid and touch input still responds well. The case now has a texture more like an otterbox than before so not as plasticay as other model. I would consider this an improvement. Case definitely feels value for money. I am assuming it will be as durable as the last. If this turn out not to be the case i will update review.

Brilliant fit, arrived next day and offers full protection. Had one on my S7 and this is much better for screen response. The clear back attracts finger prints and I would rather it was black or rubber but other than that quality is exellent

Overall a good case for the £19.99. The outer rubber casing feels protective and fall proof as others have suggested. Back screen protector is scratch resistant, however, sadly the front screen is not. Obviously the phone's glass screen isn't actually scratching but still annoying for a £20 case. I think to have a 360 degree case with a raised lip- as this I-Blason does is the best kind of case. Plus you save money on a tempered glass screen protector as it isn't needed. I've had other well known cases such as a 'Caseology Parallax' (which i use as a spare) but i feel this is one of the best in it's price bracket for all round protection.

Every time we get a new phone theres always the dreaded fear of dropping it and ruining our no1 go to gadget. This is why a decent case isnt just required its essential.First off this case does make the s9 a tad bigger but for that you get a robust all over cover with a very decent built in screen protector. All the ports are covered aswell to stop dust etc getting inside the only holes infact are for the speakers which is to be expected.The case is in two parts and very easy to fit together. The touch sensitivity is not effected by the screen cover and clarity is just fine.I know the shock absorbers on the corners work because i have dropped my phone on a few occasions and this cover held up very well with no damage whatsoever.ProsGreat all round coverGood screen protectorMakes the phone alot less slippery to holdEasy to put togetherConsMakes the phone a little bigger

Just as the headline says, this case looks great and keeps my phone really well protected from any bumps or accidental drops.The only downside is that sometimes particles of dust get in and I keep having to remove the case to clean it, also if the phone gets wet (if you're caught out in the rain for example), water can get under the screen protector through the gaps for the front camera + speakers, water then gets stuck behind the screen.That aside it feels great in the hand, touch works perfectly and I have no issue using the edge features. As for durability, while it does keep the phone safe, the built in screen protector does scratch quite easily so if keep a clear screen is important you will find yourself replacing this case every once in a while.

The case surround and edges are fine and seem robust. The touch sensitivity is great. The bit that is bad and extremely annoying is the screen cover, it's made from the softest material and I have many scratches on it and iv only had for 3days. For such a expensive case I'm very disappointed with the screen portion of this case.
