Small annoyances for a lefty, but otherwise GREAT!
I love this bag! The second strap makes it so much better when I'm commuting to work. I've never had a bag with this type of strap system and I can tell you it's the best! My last bag always used to swing around in front of me while riding. Not this one! It's spacious enough for me to pack a blazer, charging cables, phone, ear buds, and a few other electronics. It's perfect for my needs. I've been using it as my everyday bag, so it's not just for commuting! My only complaint thus far is that YES the strap is reversible, BUT the end of the tightening strap (shown in pictures 4 and 5) ends up slipping off of the main stap due to the way it "clips" onto it. It's essentially gets turned upside down when you chose to wear it lefty. I'm not sure how to fix this yet but is not been overly terrible. Just a little annoying. Also the strap is quite long for me. If I pull it tight to my body, there is a lot of excess strap. Leaving it a bit loose has worked fine but I may have to shorten the strap (and fix the clip while I'm at it--we'll see). I've used this bag in light rain and it works just fine keeping my things dry. As for a downpour, I'm not sure but the liner feels like a thick rubber so I'm sure it would hold up well. I'll update as necessary.

Small pack, great for cycling and short commute trips.
This is a small bag. I repeat, this is a small bag. Don't expect to carry around your entire life in this; rather, it feels like it's more built to have things constantly swapped in and out as you need them. I used to run a large Especial Claro as my daily bag, and I did basically carry my life around in that thing. Blew my mind when I switched to the catapult sling and hopped on my road bike, I can basically hold a similar posture as I would if I didn't have a bag on at all.I have the small model, and I honestly wish I got the medium sometimes. This bag gets full quickly, though organization goes a long way. Here's a rundown of my everday load and how I feel about it: So far, in the main compartment, I am able to cram in a folder full of papers, logitech's Tablet Keyboard, a Vivotab Note 8, an OnGuard Brute Mini, an eyeglass case, and the option of either a calculator, a workbook for class, a caliper case, something around 3/4" thick in general. This is in the main compartment, with some shuffling around. The front two pockets hold a spare tube, tire levers, tools, earbud case, and pens. In this arrangement, the top of the bag will NOT velcro down all the way; i.e., it is not 100% waterproof like this since the TPU liner is not closed in. I made it work by taking two strips of male and female velcro and sticking them to each other, sort of making an extension strip for the velcro on the front of the bag. Again, the waterproof liner is useless like this though. The reason why is because the combination of folder + tablet + keyboard pushing the front out and the height of the tablet stops the flap from reaching the velcro. I'd need to rip out either the folder, tablet, or keyboard to get a full close. Another thing to bear in mind; the small version barely holds the 8.5x11 folder. I am considering just getting the large version and selling this off second hand really, because I want a bag that can comfortably fit the folder with other stuff. Don't get me wrong, if you don't have this bag full, the folder will fit comfortably; if you're loading to capacity, you may have an issue though.Another thing that struck me was the relative uselessless of the tricot lined tablet pouch at capacity, for me at least. If it's not full, then it's nice protection for your device, but if the bag is full, then your tablet will bulge out and start digging into your back (especially if you have it pulled taut and you're biking). I just run my folder closest to my back, and the tablet goes towards the front of the bag; no problems after that.Comfort wise, this is where the bag shines. As a small and light bag, it is inherently very comfortable to walk around and bike in. The Claro that I had earlier was uncomfortable off the bike due to the single strap, but this is fine. On the bike, I love this bag; I can cinch it up pretty high on my back, and just attack my commute on my Trek. Riding to class has become more of a ride, instead of a lug your books to school kind of thing, if you get what I mean!Other small things about the bag. I am able to run two u-locks pretty easily with this, which I do like. I have again, the OnGuard Brute Mini in the main compartment, and on the outside straps I stick a longer Kryptonite lock for my front wheel + frame. The two straps at the front are actually for one u-lock, and this mechanism helps hold down the front flap pretty well (also boosts my confidence in using the velcro extension thing I made). If you don't have a u-lock at the front and plan on doing the velcro extensions, I would be a bit wary of things falling out; it works for me because I remove the OnGuard Brute when I park and that frees up some space inside. To me, I also do not believe you can just put one u-lock on one strap only and another on the other; it seems like only the one on top has extra stitching (i.e. is designed for load) and the lower one looks like it's really just there to stop the u-lock from jiggling around. The two straps at the front seem to be really designed to just hold the one u-lock. You would also have an insane problem with the top flap jiggling if you tried to put two u-locks on the outside straps.I also sped up the bag a bit with some paracord; I tied a loop through the strap pull loop's mounting end to extend it to aid in pulling it tight (never liked the D-ring on most bags), also put a loop of paracord through the loosening catch so I can just pull up on the loop to release the bag, and I also tied some loops of shock cord around the two u-lock straps so I can strap on a wind-breaker, a pump, umbrella, water bottle, etc. that otherwise would eat up room in the main compartment. Makes the bag quick and versatile. All in all, even though the bag looks like a cute trendy rendition of a messenger bag, it is by all means a full-fledged messenger ready for road use. Just be wary of how much stuff you want to be putting inside it.

Ultimate bag for quick access or when a light backpack is too much.
The prime choice for holding a single folder, small bottle, wallet, keys, phone, ulock, and a 13" laptop (even if it doesn't fit the tablet sleeve.) If you're looking for a really tough slim and water proof bag that you can sling on in a rush this is the best I've encountered.I primarily use this as my multipurpose lightweight bag. The revolver of the bag world. When I want to carry stuff but don't need a backpack or am doing field work where I need to open my bag and jot stuff down frequently. It's worth noting that this bag is comfortable when near empty, unlike backpacks. One time I panicked for a split second because I thought I lost this bag, but I was wearing it. Fits skinny guys best.I wouldn't mind worrying about reviews claiming durability or construction is an issue. The velcro is overkill, don't fret if you are worried it isn't enough to hold it closed. If you don't want to open the loud velcro flap you can just go through the top zipper. The inside fabric is TOUGH I'm a geologist and frequently dump all sorts of sharp, wet, dirty and heavy objects such as my pick and rocks. It is still white in the inside with a quick wipe down. While I can't attest to other timbuk2 products this thing is a steal given its quality.

Very solid build, comfortable to wear, enough for a few extra items, but not a substitute for a full sized bag/backpack.
I've loved the bag so far. The adjustable strap length is incredibly functional, and the quick release works exactly as desired, including the small security strap that keeps it secure on your back. Product quality is phenomenal, and I have no doubt the bag will last many years, even with regular use. It's not a big bag. My 13" laptop (ASUS Zenbook Prime) fits, but not well. I'm not worried about it falling out so much as I would worry about the corners of the computer wearing through the fabric over time. I do, however, carry an LG GPad 8.3 in it. The pocket in the bag would easily accommodate a larger device (I know a 10" device would fit, 12" would be questionable). I can fit a hardcover book, phone charger and a few other small items, Nintendo 3DS, and very light jacket in the bag, but anything more would be too much.Overall, a very light bag that fits well and comfortably on the body, especially with the security strap attached. If you're looking for a small bag to carry a little extra gear around with you, I would definitely recommend it.

Daily man-bag
I pretty much bring this bag with me everywhere that I go. I keep my essentials in the bag like my phone, wallet, battery charger, coin purse, and sometimes my camera.PROS:1) Easy and fast adjustable strap.2) Weatherproof!3) The cross-strap is effective for keeping the bag stable when riding.4) Quick access through the top zipper, instead of opening the flap.CONS:1) The flap is only secured by velcro.2) The cross-strap gets in the way when not being used. I wish it had a dedicated pocket or something to hide it away.

Well made, poor design decision.
Build quality is good, as all timbuk2 bags. However, the shoulder pad is sew to the strap, making it impossible to adjust. The bag is always at the top of my back and just the weight of it make it slowly slip down when I move, until the bare strap is on my shoulder and the pad is on the middle of my back, leaving the bag being uncomfortable and always needing to be slid upward.Using the other strap would solve this problem but it is too small to fit my hugeness.
