Holds up my banana parasol
I bought this to use with my banana parasol as I didn't realise the thing wouldn't stand up even in a gentle breeze without being anchored down.Initially I looked at the weights designed for the parasol but when they cost the same if not more than the actual parasol it wasn't worth it. I then looked at general sandbags and thought that would look a bit messy. Then I came across this type of sandbag. I wasn't sure if it would do the job as it appeared to be for a more conventional parasol but I thought I would give it a go. It was £20 instead of £80+ for a weight. When it arrived I filled it with some sand that I had in my shed left over from the kids play pit. In all it took about 2.5 bags of sand to fill it nicely (I would love to give you the bag weights but for some reason they didn't list it on the bag, sorry) Once filled I closed the velcro door and placed it around the main pole of the parasol and clipped it together using the built in clips.Since I received it we have had some really windy days and nights and I am happy to say the parasol is still up right. The bag is doing a great job.I really recommend this because it was easy to use and does the job and most importantly it only cost £20 + sand so maybe about £25-30 in total.Oh and use a trowel or something to get the sand into the bag. If you do what I did and try and pour it in you will get into a bit of a mess.

Can find exactly same cheaper. It is well made and strong material.
It was rather expensive as we wanted to receive quickly.Same is available for half the price on Amazon but delivery takes a couple of weeks. If you can wait that’s ok. I had read other reviews prior to ordering. It is well made and strong material. I found it easier to place around parasol base empty and stick the Velcro tabs along the opening together leaving the belt undone. One reviewer had said filled it with pea gravel instead of sand. I decided to do same. Ordered one 25kg bag 10mm pea gravel this was enough to fill the bag. Cost £2.15. Filled with this ensuring even spread to bag and then pulled belt tight. It is sufficient weight for our large parasol which has 18 inch metal base. Intend in winter to take the bag off the base enclose in thick plastic bag and put away. No need to empty and refill the bag, leaving it filled and in dry place. Will just slot back on base next summer.

Great.
Sits on top of lightweight parasol base that we already had.Filled it with 2 X 25kg bags of builders sand from Wickes (less than £4 for the two).Packed each "leg" in turn pushing the sand down as I went so it filled out nicely.Heavier than the £60 parasol weight that was recommended for my 3 metre tilt parasol.Parasol is now secure on our patio which can get quite windy.Very pleased with the result.I saved £40 on a more professional looking but inadequate base weight.

Solid on a Windy Day
This is an ideal base weight for our 3-metre garden parasol which kept blowing over in any kind of wind or a slight breeze. We tested this on a windy day and even though the umbrella swayed a bit, it wasn’t blowing over. There are handles securely attached on each end. We filled ours with building sand but not even to full capacity (about 25kilos) and it still secured the parasol. The material quality is excellent, and the stitching is heavy duty and solid. There’s not much more to review except to say that this base weight works well. Also handy to simply empty and transport it with us when we go camping or the beach unlike solid base weights that can't be folded into a small space, this one is not going to take up much space at all.

Does the job well
Stabilised my 2.5m diameter parasol brilliantly. No blowing over because of the wind since. It does make the parasol more difficult to move around though because it is very heavy when filled (obviously!). Takes a full 30kg of sand.

Problem solver
Very, very good. I filled mine with builder's sharp sand, (2 x bags) and it's surprising how much fits in. The inside is coated so that the sand doesn't leach out. Good sturdy handles and an effective clamping mechanism make it an effective solution. Great design and problem solved goes to make this good value for money. Other colours, please!

A good idea and also good value.
After finding a good deal on a cantilever Parasol, I was then told by a well-known DIY store that I needed either 4 bases @ £15 to secure it or buy 4 paving slabs. As I already have a fairly heavy base, although a bit rusty, I decided to go along a different root.Keeping my existing base and placing a circular one of these over the top was a much better idea, it not only covered the rust but added more stability and was a lot cheaper with just 2 bags of sand needed. With 2 handles for moving this, a flap to shovel the sand in and a clamping belt round the outside, this weatherproof polyester base seems a good alternative at a reasonable cost.

Parasol weight.
Bought this to stabilise a cantilever umbrella purchased on Amazon. Filled it with two bags of 25 kg kiln dried sand from builders yard. Wasperfect for the job. Didn't take up too much space like the plastic weights you see for sale. Little bit awkward to move but has two handles that can be used to lift by a strong person or two people. A lot cheaper than buying four plastic ones.
