I bought this auger bit specifically to drill holes for termite bait stations, and it exceeded my expectations. It cut through hard clay and gravel with very little effort, making the job much faster than using a hand tool. We have clay dirt that is not easy to get down into with a shovel. I purchased this to help make the deep wide planting holes for new trees. We also made drainage holes filled with gravel for helping with drainage around the perimeter. Worked great, faster and easy.

So cool. There's a certain finesse to using it but its awesome. If you use full pressure on the trigger it will blast dirt everywhere but if you just barely spin it it works great and piles the dirt perfectly around the edge of the hole.

This made it so easy to plant my bulbs. Just a few spins of the drill and I could easily plant my bulbs. It also drilled through the landscape fabric so I didn’t have to find a knife.
