Spindles: 27 (Workshop Practice Series)

Just the job!
If you are an engineer you've probably come across most of the spindles in this book, but when designing a project you can't always think about everything, and it's a great help to look through this book to remind yourself of the different ways you could do something. Interesting for anyone with a mechanical mind.

An interesting read for the somewhat experienced engineer.
I bought this book out of a general interest in all things "engineering". Ideal if you are a Myford or similar small lathe user, but not essential unless you actually want to make a spindle. In this respect it appears to be comprehensive guide with a number of different spindle designs. The author appears to suggest that it suitable for the beginner with some experience, although I would add "...one with a comprehensive workshop and access to other machines / engineers to borrow tools, etc".Nevertheless, an interesting read.

A worthwhile addition to my collection.
I've looked through it but not read it, so this isn't a full review. However, I've read some of Mr Sandhu's magazine articles, and they left me very impressed (and helpfully informed). The publisher is sadly prone to muddy photographic images in their various publications, and this book has a few. But many images are drawings and they and the text are fine, so for me this is a good purchase.

A very useful guide to anyone needing to make or modify custom spindles for mounting abrasive wheels and a lot more.Well written/easy to follow and decent drawings of some of the spindles mentioned within.
