Meh....
as you. can see bt this terribly written review the keynoard has some mapping issues. I also thought i could ytype without the on screen typwritter that slides upward taking up half the screeen but i guess thats an ios issue.i havent tried th. drum pad yet. typing t h e is an issue i see as i type... i am curious how both the video editing overlay and piano keyboard work annd hop ing for a DAW overlay. The The,, hey, The works fine if you use a Cap T.the product itself doesnt work using bluetooth while it’s plugged into a charger for some odd reason. but it came with some charge and connected to the iPad Pro without any issues. It is a solid well packaged item with aaaaaa .. the aaa key is giving me issues atm.. with a somewhat cheap imitation ipad chrome finish.Boxed well complete with RETURN LABEL STICKER hmmm....

Feels good, simple to use, tons of uses
A tiny drawing tablet and some rubber pads. That's how my desk sees this thing. What I'm saying is, it has a tiny footprint and I can go anywhere with this... LITERALLY. It's wireless, even! I bought the entire pack and all overlays have been useful so far (except the innovator one cus I haven't had time to get around to trying to make my own yet.) But anyway- the ONLY TWO HANG-UPS for CERTAIN PEOPLE are 1) the drawing / art tablet community seems to not be approving of this thing so be careful if you're wanting to do mostly that and 2) this is NOT a typewriting keyboard that does other things. This is a device that does other things that can also allow you to type when NECESSARY. The keyboard overlay is not for typing your next novel or important work emails for hours on end. But it IS a portable rubber pad that can come with you wherever you go or allow you to type something out somewhere in your work space without having to return to your computer, which is extremely useful. But even on maximum sensitivity, you're going to have to type in a more forceful, deliberate style of typing while using the keyboard overlay to not make typos.- All the other overlays are great. I've used the video editing one on Premiere Pro and am amazed by all the things it can do so quickly and I'm not even that pro of a Premiere Pro user. It will bring great relief to the serious editor. The piano is good enough and the black keys are slightly raised which is nice! If you're a serious pianist, of course you'll want to get or keep your current actual MIDI keyboard, synth, etc to retain the true feel of keyed input for music, but the Piano overlay is MPE compatible and it's gonna let you do a lot more in terms of expression than those clacky plastic keys. The Buchla Thunder and DAW Control overlays are prime territory for EDM nerds. The drum pad overlay feels great to play with hands, mallets or sticks. Beat makers will love it for finger drumming especially if they know what a "real drum kit" looks like (otherwise, they can just use the DAW control overlay if they like the grid style pads). But remember the drum overlay lets you press stuff as fast as possible so if you're doing fast drumming or using sticks for rolls you need the drum pad overlay! Yes, the game pad is essentially useless except for the, like, 5 people who can think of a gaming use for it. I play emulated games, PC games, android games and beyond, though, so I know it will come in handy at one point. Otherwise it serves as a great XY controller (in the middle of the game pad) for whatever you wanna map it to. And of course you can re-map the game pad buttons to do other things too, including control stuff in your DAW or editing software etc! (i'm pretty sure.)Ok getting bored of typing but I wanted to get a review up cus this thing exceeded my expectations and it's a better choice for almost everyone compared to the main competitor, the Joue Board and Joue Play. If you're a total beginner who only wants to make music, then maybe get the Joue Play. But if you do a lot of different roles on your computer and like to be able to switch instantly from one to the next, THIS IS A LIFESAVER.I'm an author (keyboard overlay, for jotting down ideas)I'm a musician (piano overlay)I'm a music producer (DAW control and Buchla Thunder overlay)I'm a percussionist who can't be loud and noisy in my apartment building (the drum pad overlay)I'm a gamer (game pad overlay)I'm a video editor (video editor overlay)and when I have time, I like to make my own tools for creative work (innovator overlay)AND I like having my options open without having to buy a whole new thing (future overlays)So I mean, if you're like me, this is a dumb-easy decision. It's a keeper for me so far!

and designed to be even better in the future
Innovative, fresh, versatile, and designed to be even better in the future. This is a very cool and solid piece of technology with an openness to it that will allow the community to continue to develop awesome ways to use it. I would say as a music interface device it is extremely solid and most of all FUN! Seriously, being able to switch overlays between mpc and keyboard is just EXCELLENT. It has a fantastic solid build, and the overlays have a fantastic feel to them. The size is amazing for the mobile artist (music, video, drawing, etc). I will say that the drawing and painting tablet use has a solid start, but I think more development is only going to make it better. Tweaking has to be done to find the best sensitivity level. Being able to use different items to draw with is just amazing (cardboard shading pencil, stylus, paintbrush...whatever). I really enjoyed being able to draw on paper as well, and have it show up digitally simultaneously. I am eager to explore other overlays and other custom application interfacing with this wonderful device. I hope to get the necessary tweaking to fully replace my Wacom tablet. The amount of creative things I can do with just my phone and this tablet is amazing. Seriously, imagine beat producing with your cell phone and this tablet connected via BT...WOW! I'm guessing this review will need an update as I discover more ways to use the Sensel Morph. This is a no-brainer for "tech geeks" for sure!

My go to controller for music production
Very innovative controller. Every parameter on each overlay (drum pad, piano, MPC-like controller, gamer, video production, and QWERTY keyboard) can be remapped to any message or channel using the Sensel app. Portable, bluetooth compatible, and everyone's mind is blown when you switch out the overlays. It's a really sensitive device (20,000 pressure sensors) which allows you to put a "human" feel to music production. It's easy and fun, a 6-in-one controller. And you can get the innovator's overlay using Max MSP or other similar software and literally control anything. Super sick, I always recommend it!

Most versatile controller I've ever seen
The Morph is easily the most versatile musical controller I have ever seen. I got it with the piano, music production, and innovators overlays and it's mind-blowing that you can just take one overlay off and the entire unit immediately becomes something totally different as soon as you put a new overlay on. Programming each overlay is super easy with the app. In addition to using it with Ableton Live and Bitwig, I also use it as a MIDI controller in my live performance rig to trigger samples and give me quick access to other MIDI commands that no other controller can give me - much less one that's super sleek and built like a tank. The piano keys are tiny in order to get two octaves (bottom of the top B key plays the C note above) but the fact that it has polyphonic aftertouch makes it worth adjusting to. As far as the innovators overlay goes, figure out what you want it to be and grab your sharpie!
