Barbie FJH65 Collector Frida Kahlo Inspiring Women Series Frida Kahlo Doll

This doll perfectly captures the style of Frida Kahlo. Her dress is beautiful and her face is truely unique for a barbie doll. Plus she comes with a stand! As a collector this makes me very happy and I wish more dolls did this. I would definately recommend her for any collection. For playing with I would say she is also great as her clothes are all one easily removable dress and where her hair is up it wont get ruined easily.On the other hand, I do not think she is worth £49.99 as I paid. Although her arms have full articulation, her legs do not. The plastic feels a lot cheaper than most barbies I own and her hair might look amazing from the front but at the back its a mess.Generally though I love her and am so pleased mattel made a doll of such an inspiring woman. I look forward to the rest of the line and hope they become available in UK soon!

I like everything about her, so individual and clearly Frida. She had such a unique style and the only thing I would say is there should be clothes for her to change into

I haven't had her out of the box as she is a collectors' item. However, she is striking and a wonderful addition to any serious Frida Khalo fan or Barbie collector's set.

Great to be able to find her in the UK!Glad that Mattel have given her a serious face and kept her mono brow which is in keeping with the Artist.The clothes are average quality as you’d expect on a doll at this price point, but at least they have made a decent attempt at representing Kahlo’s style.Overall, very pleased.

5 Stars to Mattel for having the sheer cheek and ignorance to make this appalling representation of Kahlo. She spent most of her adult life in a wheelchair, having multiple disabilities. This doll is reprehensible exploitation of her. There is no indication of her true physicality and it continues the idea that disabled people can't be productive. They have even minimised the famous monobrow. This is before we get int the fact that Kahlo was a life long communist and despised American capitalist society. Frida's work is significant and to be reduced to a version of a Barbie doll just about says everything you need to say about the priorities of American culture. I purchased this dool to use in an artwork I am making - it will not fare well.

Gorgeous. The debate is whether Kahlo would have approved. She was all about image and her look, so, yes, I think she would have approved - hope they make a Barbie out of me!

I love Frida!! The doll is wonderfully dressed in a trad Mexican come boho style. Hair is styled beautiful. Her unibrow is there, and done very tastefully.Only wish the dolls box was more special to justify the price tag!
