Ardell Beauty Stroke a Brow Feathering Pen, Dark Brown, 1-pack

I love this brow pen; it’s my favorite brow product I’ve ever used. If you aren’t already here because of Katie Jane Hughes on Instagram, I recommend searching her (@katiejanehughes) and she has an instastory highlight about how she uses this pen.I find it’s extremely important to store these pens upside down to allow the “ink” to travel down to the brush, and also to keep the brush pointed down as you use feathering strokes to paint the shape and hairs you want. The faster you work, the better; some people say the pen dries out, though I find I have plenty of time for both brows, especially if I’m using more than one color.You don’t need to use a primer in advance of using these pens (some peoples he trouble if they DO use primer; something about the slippiness makes it difficult for the pen to stick. I’ve never had that issue myself but if you’re struggling try without primer). I also tend to use a brow gel on top of this, but only to wrangle my brow hairs into one direction. You certainly don’t need to.I’ve attached some swatches, since I had a really hard time finding any online. The main difference between “soft black” and “dark brown” is that the dark brown has a warm undertone and is much more opaque than soft black in my opinion. The idea is to use short, light strokes to apply this, so nothing will be too strong unless you want it to be. I tend to go in with soft black first to get the shape I want at the arch and to do some filling in, then I use medium brown on the inside of my brows and also to fill in, and then I use dark brown last just where I need some extra coverage.I certainly don’t recommend being this extra; I bought the colors to see what they looked like and found that I like the dimension of using multiples and also that it helps ensure my pens don’t dry out at an inopportune time.

I have used everything over the years, from Benefit (Macy’s), to MAC to Anastasia. I happened to stumble upon a TikTok video one day in which the reviewer gave a great review about this Ardell eyebrow product. I immediately went to Amazon to order it. When I initially applied it, it felt “off”. However, after experimenting with it, I learned how to apply it in a much better way and wow! I was amazed! This is now my go to eyebrow product- it’s clean and gives a fresh look! I can’t leave the the house without this stuff now. Believe me, if you buy it you won’t regret it!TIP: Store it in a drawer or a dark place because if it’s out, it can dry out. I made that mistake, but just added a bit of water to the tip, gently rubbed it and placed in my drawer and it was back to new.

I worked at Sally Beauty years ago and had gotten this brow marker during that time, after almost 5 years it finally started running out, yes I know I should have thrown it away by then; but isn't that insane that it lasted so long?After several failed attempts with ordering a different felt tip eyebrow marker, I finally tried my luck in looking up this brand, and to my surprise it was available.I usually look at reviews first to make sure I'm buying what I actually want and it'll work, I didn't take the time and now I am left with completely empty product, the cap is totally clean and dry, the felt tip is white at the base and is also dry.I bought this because I wanted to be ready to use it when mine inevitably ran out and once it did, it was already out of the return window, and as dry as my humor.This pen is amazing for me when it works (unless the formula is different now), just not this time.

I love that it's a healthy product on EWG. Looks nice when it works but it only works for a few strokes before it stops and has to rest upside down for another 20 min. Maybe I got an old dried out one.

I found this product in a beauty supply store a few years ago and they discontinued selling this item. I have been ordering it offline since then. I love it and always get compliments on my brows. I have yet to find a feathering pen that even comes close!I just wish I could purchase in store it would be so much easier for me

This has always been my go to brow pen because this stuff stays right where u put it. I’ve gone to bed and woken up with them perfectly how they were the day before. The only problem is that it dries up or runs out pretty quick and you have to purchase a new one.

** Another update** I am back a third time to again proclaim my LOVE for this product. I will cry the day Ardell discontinues this brown pen! So I am stocking up, with 3 backups available at all times lol. This will literally give you the fluffy brows of your dreams. You can rub with your finger and it will not smudge. I am a brow SNOB and this stuff is perfection!Original review: This pen is great! I have used it twice so far and the hair strokes look very natural. The product really stays in place. I slept in my makeup last night (I know, not good lol), and my brows still look great today with no touch ups. I highly recommend!*** Update 2 months later ***After using this for 2 months, I did repurchase another pen. As with any liquid product, this will start to dry out after 1-2 months of daily use but that is to be expected in my opinion. Repurchasing this once every 2 months at the price is not a negative in my opinion. I did not have any trouble with the tip drying out while applying until 2 weeks ago which is your sign that it's time to purchase a fresh pen. I will continue to purchase this product for as long as they make it.

This has been a favorite of mine for years. However, this last order I received less than a week ago was either old or not full. The previous pencils I have purchased have lasted months. My most recent order didn’t last a week, so very disappointed in the quality of what was shipped to me. I have ordered another to give it another go and I’m hopeful it was just a fluke on my last order otherwise I will have to look elsewhere.
