Babelio Extra Wide No Bottom Bar Baby/Dog Gate, 28" H, 29.7-46.5" W, White

We have three of these gates in our house and absolutely love them. They work perfectly in both a narrow doorway and a wider space, fitting each area securely. In the spots where we attached it to drywall, we added a small piece of wood behind the gate for extra stability. In other areas where we drilled directly into wood, it already feels super solid. I really like that it swings both directions and has a smooth, easy-to-use latch that clicks into place so you know it’s locked. You can open it with one hand, which is a lifesaver when carrying a baby or laundry. Sharing a quick video so you can see how it swings both ways — overall, highly recommend!

I ordered 2 of these gate with our first child for the top and bottom of the stairs. If installed correctly they work great! You don’t have to worry about a bottom bar to accidentally trip on going down and easy going up the stairs. Later we ordered a 3rd. During a move / remodel we misplaced the hardware to setup the gate. I reached out to Babelio and explained the situation and they were extremely responsive and helpful in finding a solution. Definitely would recommend!

Amazingly sturdy, nice smooth welds, well finished and clever "no latch" hold-open when you want to carry stuff down the stairs. I chose to use BOTH their cool sticker for the hinge side AND verify the hole designations with the 4 ft level for absolute vertical. You stick it on the wall and drill pilot holes right through it. Use a 1/8 bit, EVEN if you end up enlarging the holes for wall anchors for best accuracy. Once the hinge side is up, you SLIDE the two sections wider to meet the latch side and position the latch pieces with the double sided tape. Open it wide, drill pilot holes and put in the screws and fiddle with the Allen screws in the two sections to get it to close perfectly, which mine did. Hint, do the top latch first, an lightly draw around it with a pencil, in case the double sided tape doesn't hold while you are drilling. It looks nice, work VERY smoothly, the installation "sticky templates" make it goof proof. I'd buy it again.

I think its a great gate for my dog. I had zero issues installing it. The black finish on it makes it look really nice.

This is a great gate, looks good, fairly easy to adjust with two people. This was a great option for the top of our stairs in the entryway of our split level home and there is still plenty of room for expansion if we would have needed more. Be advised the drywall anchors need to be upgraded otherwise it will just pull out of the wall, we tried with what they sent and the “hinge” side was coming out of the wall after just 2 days. The gate gets lots of use and we’re using it as one of a double gate system for keeping our Giant Schnauzers separated from my daughter’s pit bull mix (all 3 are very strong) so we needed strong anchoring to the wall, for protection of all dogs in the house. We attached 2x4, painted to match the walls, on each side of the stairwell and secured them with 6-8 screws and heavy duty drywall anchors. then the gate is attached to the 2x4s. Works great this way. Someone with proper saws and skill could make the 2x4 look better than what we did.

Great baby gate- easy assembly

I do not write reviews until I have used the product and can give my honest opinion. At first, this gate was great. The " auto-close" feature is not as it states but it is stays put and keeps our toddler from getting where she doesn't need to go. My husband was able to install it into the door frame without issue. Seemed very sturdy and well made. We bought this gate on May 20, 2025, and right around the 2-month mark of having it installed, one of the bars on the gate, at the bottom, came un-welded and broke. It absolutely threw off the entire stability of the gate, the locking mechanism, my toddler's safety is now a concern. This is NOT a cheap gate, and we are past the return window, so we had to make it work. My husband was able to duct tape it/glue it back together until we can find a better replacement. I would NOT recommend this gate for parents with small children as I feel it is a liability to their safety and security. Very disappointed in the quality. I will try to add a picture if/when I can later. But again, as a mother to a small child, this scared me and with how expensive this gate is, we are very disappointed in what has happened in such a short time of using it. ***We do not have pets; we are not rough with this gate. We literally use it for our living room area, so it has not sustained any above expected usage****

I will say that the installation on this is not trivial. It has an odd shape that makes labeling between two walls easy to mess up. And if you're putting it between walls, you may not have a stud which the instructions say you just have. In spite of that it comes with drywall anchors that I didn't trust. So I used some flip-toggle anchors instead that could handle a lot of weight. So I don't love the install kit but still 5 stars because the gate itself is great. It takes almost no space and stays open. The open floor on the bottom is everything. And so far, it seems super sturdy.
