Best $100 I’ve ever spent
The machine works well with a 15bar pump that can go through the finest of grinds. Froth option works flawlessly and the americanos better than any K-cup try to imitate. Overall 8-10 but I’ve never owned a $1000 machine

Gourmia espresso maker
The item was broken right out of the box. I've been In contact with Gourmia about the product. Gourmia has the part to purchase, however I did have to pay for the part even though it was packaged as pictured. Pretty upset that I had to spend more money on something that was broken before it was packaged. The piece was not inside the box so that tells me it was packaged that way. Hopefully after the replacement part that I had to pay for comes in I can finally use it.

Affordable, easy to use, very automatic, delicious espresso drinks!
The media could not be loaded. I took advantage of a Black Friday deal from a big box retailer when Gourmia launched this product exclusively there last fall, and now that I've had it for a couple of months, I see that it's available here, too. Figured I should share what I've learned!First, I appreciate that while this is very automated, it also lets you, or requires you to, depending on how you look at it, do your own coffee grinding and portioning and placing. Once you put the coffee portafilter in place full of grounds, and have the water and milk reservoirs filled and in place, just touch the button for the drink you'd like, and the machine does the rest.NOTE: If you don't remember to put the milk frother's spout over your mug, or if your mug isn't big enough, you WILL make a mess. So far I've only made this mistake once, and what a good lesson it was! This comes with a solid-feeling portafilter with two different insertable filter baskets, for a single shot and a double shot of espresso. There's a bit of plastic that can flip up from the handle and over the edge of the filter basket to make it easier to dump the grounds into the compost or trash without losing the basket in the process. (The baskets also twist into place and are only removable when twisted back so a notch fits through a gap, but it's nice to have the plastic guard as well.)It feels a little clumsy to get the portafilter in place, and I've accidentally dumped some grounds in the process. It probably takes a bit of practice to get the angle just right for inserting and lifting the portafilter to where you can twist the handle to lock it all in place. I'll keep practicing.Either get your coffee beans already ground for you to an espresso grind, or make sure your grinder is up to the task. I've had mixed results when I don't take the time to get the beans ground nice and fine. When I really grind the beans thoroughly and tamp the grounds into the filter basket firmly, I've gotten very satisfactory espresso with a decent crema. The combination scoop and tamper is probably the least solid-feeling part. It's plastic, and doesn't provide great leverage when I want to put my weight into tamping the grounds. I'll probably go find a real tamper.I've also had good results from both whole milk and 2% (low-fat) milk from a local dairy. I haven't tried skim milk, oat milk or other alt milks, or cheap commercial milk, so I don't know how they'll do. I recall from past experience that some of these don't froth as well in other consumer equipment, such as the Keurig K-Café brewer. Decent quality milk or a "barista blend" oat milk is probably a good bet. This is NOT going to match the results a professionally trained barista will get from a $10,000 machine. It's just not. But it's also not going to cost me $3-7 per drink. The unit comes with a water reservoir that's plenty big enough for several espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos between fills. Of course you'll go through water more quickly if you make americanos. I've only done that once, to see what it was like, but I don't love americanos anyway. The milk reservoir is also big enough that you'll get several cappuccinos before you need to refill. You need to insert the milk reservoir into the machine before it will offer you the cappuccino, latte, or americano options. That's easy to understand for the cappuccino and latte, but in the case of the americano, the machine is using the frothing mechanism -- including the frother spout -- to heat and dispense the hot water for your drink. Just a quirk, but it makes sense. It's fine if there's milk in there; it still dispenses just hot water for an americano.I've been keeping the milk reservoir in the refrigerator's crisper drawer between uses, with the remaining milk still in it, rather than emptying it and washing it each time. It seems well enough covered that I'm not worried about it sitting there overnight, though do note that it's NOT SEALED. If you have stuff with strong aromas in your fridge, I'd go another route. My conclusion? When I'm willing to spend a couple of minutes preparing, I feel like I'm getting a very good result from this very affordable machine. As I write this, it's $100 on Amazon, and I think it's worth it, even though I paid half that several weeks ago. Is it worth the $134 that that seller is offering it at now? Or Amazon's "typical price" of $129? Less obvious, but that's up to you. There really aren't a lot of cheaper products out there that are worth using.Would I buy this again? At $50 without a doubt; at $100 it still feels worth it. Would I suggest you buy it? Yeah, it's pretty sweet for a consumer espresso machine.
