Massive capacity. Secure and waterproof on long journey
I was apprehensive when deciding to purchase a bag instead of a roof box, but it was so much cheaper so I took the risk. Well worth it!! Fitted two large heavy suitcases plus towels and coats for family of 6, plus a large dog bed and kids outdoor toys inside easily! Strapped to the longitudinal roof rails of our estate car and sat directly on the roof. I purchased a £10 non slip mat to go under just to protect roof a bit. Stayed very very secure during a long motorway journey there and back, and even had heavy rain on way out. Everything inside stayed bone dry. Used the extra 6 additional straps also, so 12 holding it on it total. Didn't notice any adverse effect to car control and minimal to fuel consumption. Folds away really compact for storage. Would highly recommend.

Superb luggage carrier, that stays in place and packs a load
This was an excellent purchase. It worked perfectly, holding a good load of items on the roof which hugely increased the volume we could take on holiday. The bag is a little fiddly to get in place (compared with say a roof box), as you need to keep walking around to tighten the straps until you are nice and secure. But this minor inconvenience is easily offset by the fact it's much quicker than a roofbox to remove from the roof (for local driving once your at your destination), It packs back into a tiny box, for superb storage in cupboard. It looks very watertight (it didnt rain when i used it).The bag never moved on the roof (you do need to buy the <£10 mat) and was nice and snug to the roof, so there was no wind noise and resistance was minimal. There is a minor vibration noise sometimes on the straps. You just need to tighten enough.I have already recommended this and had a very happy friend.

So quiet on a long journey.
Quiet, when tied on correctly. When you tie it to the rails of the car, ideal for the Seat Alhambra. The long loose ends need to be tied up, so they don't flap around. I also bought a 3mm rubber mate which I trimmed down to the the correct width but left it 200mm longer than the bag. The 3" piece 75mm in front of the bag flapped up and down and at high speed was very noise. Stopped folded the 3" piece back under the bag, then it was super quiet. I had 4 cabin bags and 2 large suite cases which had the 30+ kg stickers on them from the airport. The bag leaked slightly on the journey from Gatwick to Cornwall, just on the front left hand corner but thought it might have been my fault as the zip on the left was 4" along the front. On my return journey, I had the positioned correctly and I was very confident about the water resistance. We decided to put the large hold all bag inside a black plastic bag. When we unloaded the bag after a very wet and very windy journey the black bag was wet on top and underneath the bag. All of the suite case etc were bone dry. The bag was made of heavy material and with the naked eye all of the seams were sealed and in most cases double sealed. The bag is well made and easy to fit and fold away into its very smart bag. I returned the bag for a full refund, without any problems. I wanted to give the bag 5 stars but the leak spoiled that I think I was just unfortunate. Would buy again.

Well made and lots of storage space
Was sceptical about this when I ordered it but was very impressed with its size and quality. Fitted to an S Max with out roof bars, managed to fit in a small water board 5 big bags of clothes and a beach chair, all secured with the straps supplied. Was a bit worried it might move or come of but it was absolutely fine on a nice long drive from Hertfordshire to Cornwall with no issues. We had a little bit of rain and everything inside stayed dry although like others have said the straps do get wet but we didn't have enough rain for it to start dripping in the car but the strap was wet.Overall this saved us a lot of money on getting roof bars and box and to me seems like can fit a lot more it. Would highly recommend this.

Brilliant
We have a Mini Countryman and on a recent trip to The Cotswolds we needed to transport 4 adults and a Golden Retriever leaving no room for our luggage. This 20 cubic feet roof bag was perfect! It took all of our bags with room to spare and despite some light rain on the journey from London everything arrived dry. Very easy to strap onto the roof - we used a rubber mat to stop any grit from scratching the roof - and wonderful to be able to remove it the moment we arrived. It folds up and stores away in a bag and I guarantee will get far more use than a traditional roof box which you would use once or twice and have to find somewhere to store for the rest of the year! Totally recommended.

Seems great but it badly leaks.
So on unboxing; the quality seemed excellent; the straps, clasps and bag material seems very heavy duty.It was mounted up on my truck and the straps pulled very tight and they held strong; it gave a lot of confidence. It was loaded with my kit and due to the bags size I managed to load my camp bed, large moon camping chair, two regular camping chairs, a camp table, picnic blanket and XL sleeping bag - I was very impressed. The bag was closed, the rain guard pulled down over the zip and secured using the sewn velcro strips. We headed off on our trip. We unpacked and set-up camp.During the first night we experienced moderate rain, the following day I thought I'd check the bag and was horrified to find that it was full of puddles of water.I opened it up, dried up the water using a roll of kitchen towel; thinking that maybe the zip hadn't been fully closed properly and/or the velcro rain guard wasn't secured. At the end of the weekend we started to pack. There were some drops of water inside. The bag was loaded again the straps pulled tight, the rain guard secured and we set off home.On the way back there was heavy rain. When we got home and unpacked; everything was soaked; the camp bed, chairs, sleeping bag and picnic blanket. In short, the bag is not fit for purpose and will be sent back.

Easy install
I bought this as a gift for my parents to travel. It is really easy to install, plenty amounts of space, and durable

Horrible Wind Resistance
I used this carrier twice. Overall it lasted about 1,800 miles. The first time it worked as expected for over 1,200 miles. The 2nd trip was a disaster. Half-way through the trip at about 600 miles the top material failed. Eventually the seams did not hold up under 60mph conditions and quickly tore in multiple places eventually ripping the entire top clear off.

Good buy
Definitely worth the buy, made it from Alberta to BC. No problems, even though I was concerned about slippage. That was never the issue with the door hooks option, one thing I wish I did was get the larger one. Great buy

Exceeded our expectations.
Very happy with this product and it definitely held quite a bit of our gear.It rained in excess of 4 hours one way and 2 hours back, with no evidence of leakage whatsoever. As it was hard to visualize during the initial product comparison, I'm glad I purchased the 20ft² carrier instead of the 15ft² (Go bigger.. always!)These units will definitely fit the roof of a Mini as well.. not that we used it on this rental.. just a good-to-know observation.Regardless of the fact we used a rental vehicle, a protective non-slip mat for the roof, under the unit is highly suggested.. as a just-in-case scenario. The zipper system and velcro flap that covers it seem solid.I did find it tricky to start either side's zippers when closing. So I'd highly recommend not to fully open zippers and stop about 8 inches before reaching the "fully" unzipped position. Following this advice will not impede storage in the least.I do have to mention that you will have to get creative with the included bag for the carrier, as after the initial unpacking.. you will NEVER get it folded as skillfully back in.As a side note, in the provided instruction manual, you are told that you should not put live pets into the carrier. Sage advice indeed. I'd also suggest that it is unsuitable for unalive pets as well.

Not completely waterproof
Be aware that this product is not completely waterproof. This is stated in the product description and it recommends wrapping your items in plastic to keep them dry. I did not heed this warning and drove through heavy rain. Even with the Velcro flaps fastened over the zipper, enough rain got inside the cargo carrier to get my soft side bag damp. I like the other features of this product - easy to attach to the roof, and convenient to fold up for storage. Buyers just need to understand it is not completely waterproof.
