As a "huskier" gentleman who is prone to bouts of activity, I occasionally suffer from what I learned is often referred to as "Jock Itch". Deeply uncomfortable, a little embarrassing and very irritating. It doesn't last long at all, but long enough that I have sort out solutions for it.Until now, I've used Daktarin (miconazole nitrate) to treat it and a little goes long way, but it's around £7 for a 30ml tube which is expensive. I saw this balm and whilst not cheap, there is a lot in the tin so it should be marginally better value.Does it work? Yes. But I find I need to use a fair bit. It has a strong odour, not unpleasant but noticeable and due to the nature of the balm, it goes on "greasy" but it soon absorbs in and offers protection. I think it can take a little more time before it starts to offer relief than I'd like, but that's compared to what I have used previously.Compared to Daktarin it isn't as effective as quickly, but it is cheaper, will last much longer and uses natural ingredients. I would recommend it and would consider it again.

Tried a couple of remedies but none seem to provide a permanent cure. Would be most interested to hear if anyone out there has come across a permanent treatment for this annoying problem.

This is a little pot of balm for the price, but it is good quality. The fragrance is lovely, woody and musky. The balm melts easily under the warmth of your fingers, making it easy to apply. It's certainly comforting on a rash and it does seem to help clear it up quicker.

I have never ever heard of Jock-itch treatment before, it had never even occurred to me. But as soon as I saw it I knew that I have been a sufferer as it is a by product of driving long distances sometimes.Previously, I have used nappy rash cream, Vaseline, Savlon etc. with limited results.This tin arrives and at first glance the contents appear to be very waxy. However after rubbing a little with the finger tip it relaxes a little enabling you to get some on your fingertip to apply.Using it is bliss and stops any itchiness or irritation almost immediately as long as you are clean and dry prior to application of course.The only downside for me is the smell - which is best classed as 'unusual'. It definitely has a light citroen-y smell, and there are undercurrents of menthol. The rest I can't describe and the combination is something I have never smelled before.At a price of £19.99 this is quite expensive, but it appears to be lasting a considerable time and I don;t think I will need another tin this side of next year.
