Great addition to Halo collection!
My son (aged 10) got this toy for Christmas and loves it! Building it was challenging and he needed adult help, but he had lots of fun watching it evolve. It has made a great addition to his Halo Mega blocks collection and he is enjoying using it in his play.Got it half price so quite good value! Not sure I would pay full price for this though!

A little pricey, but well worth it!
My 12 year old son saved up and bought this for himself and he and his dad spent many hours constructing it. Although the pieces are small the booklet was quite self explanatory and not too difficult to construct and the end product looks amazing!I have to say it was well worth it! He is thrilled and spends a lot of his time playing with it. We now have a long list of other halo mega bloks that he would like for his birthday! Would definitely recommend :)

My son was really excited to get this and of course it took a long time to build. Unfortunately one of the wheels was broken and a few pieces misshaped so another wheel would not stay on. It was such a large box it was difficult to return so his excitement soon turned to disappointment after he had built it as the wheel (not the broken one) keeps falling off. He had to take it apart and put the misshaped pieces so that he could manage with a wheel missing on both sides!!

great item
this set is great you need some patience to sort it out but it is well worth the time. it could maybe do with some more figures. I would definitely recommend this to someone who has the money and the patience for this item (written by my son)

Halo Mammoth
A must for all die hard halo fans, build quality good, instructions quite good. Excellent centre piece, talking point - or alternatively great for 10 year olds (and above)

A lot of effort, but worth it!
I love it, but also hate it. Amazon kindly offered this at a reduced price and, having a son who is Halo mad, I picked it up for Christmas without really paying much attention to what it was. I don't even know what Halo is, but he likes it. Imagine my surprise when, the following day, a truck turned up with a heavy crane to deliver a huge box of Megabloks containing six million pieces. Okay, I lied, it was a heavy box containing 2030 pieces. This was put aside until the big day.Of course, when he saw it he was incredibly excited and couldn't wait to build it. Sorry, couldn't wait for ME to build it. As he opened bag after bag of plastic pieces and tipped them into pots and tupperware boxes, I felt my heart sink. There was enough here to build Buckingham palace, and the instruction manual was as thick as the bible and up to Megabloks usual poor standard (The blocks are drawn too darkly and it's sometimes hard to see what you're supposed to be using.). The stickers were already peeling off the backing.Anyway, he started and quickly got tired and wandered off to play with the figures. I started and after two hours barely dented the pots full of pieces. After Christmas dinner I continued for a few hours until I came across two missing pieces - not small pieces, but two large pieces. Quite annoying. My son decided that he wanted to play with the half completed item and stuck the wheels on and took it away. I carried on a few days later and ended up staying up most of the night to get the bloody thing finished. Along the way I found another missing piece. Luckily, the missing pieces did not mean I could not finish it. And eventually, after hours of sifting through bloody bricks I finally had a finished Mammoth and an horrendously excited son who promptly took it off me without even a thanks as I was slumped over the table mumbling like a lunatic. The sound of fingers rattling through bricks still echoed around my head, and I felt like it was end of era.So completed? It's pretty good. Doors open up so my kid's 'Warthog' can roll in, and the top lifts off both the front and back sections so you can stick figures in the cockpit and storage area. It's huge as well. As I don't know what it's based on, I can't vouch for its authenticity, but it looks good to me. That's not to say if I ever come across the sadists who concocted this beast I will have to restrain myself! Having said that, this kept me away from the booze. What I quite like about it is that it's pretty durable when completed, and will probably withstand plenty of knocks. Although no doubt my kid will start to customise it himself. The missing parts were annoying (Two large windows and a section of the gun) but I made an order for missing parts on the Megabloks website, so hopefully they will arrive soon. What's more important is that the intended audience (My kid, although when he's in bed I've been having some battles with it - after all the bloody effort I put in to putting this together, I feel it's my right to play with it!) think it's awesome and 'the best xmas present I've ever had.'From my point of view, the instructions could be better printed, and being slightly colour blind it was difficult to tell the difference between some of the parts. Missing pieces is really not good, so it's docked a star for that. If they turn up it might go up to five.

Great toy, and Mega Blocks do like to advertise ...
Great toy, and Mega Blocks do like to advertise how many thousand pieces it has in there... but that's kinda annoying when you're spending days building the thing - so many parts that could've been built in 1 item, Mega Blocks like to use 10 pieces to do the same - the number count looks impressive, but it's more frustrating really... esp so with younger kids who lose patience / attention easily. The Mammoth itself is great tho.

It's bigger than my dog!
Y'know there probably are a few cons somewhere in my thoughts on this thing... but I honestly can't get past just how huge and pure awesome it is. I am not sure whether 'It's bigger than the DOG!" should be viewed as a pro or a con? It's not perfect. But it is a helluva ton of fun.

awesome
This set is truly grand. At 2000+ pieces, it was challenging and fun to build. The mammoth towers of any other mega bloks set and looks greatl in Ia battle scene. With all its nooks and features, its perfect for an army on the go; it holds about 20 figures as well as a warthog and a couple of mongooses. For the price, it really isn't a bad deal either. Admittedly, the three figures its comes with, though cool on their own, aren't quite enough to pilot it one, (though it comes with a wide array of weapons) but that's a small complaint for any collector. Some flaws in my set were a single missing piece and shoddy stickers. Mega brands is friendly and will replace missing and defective pieces for free though, so its really nothing to stress about. One thing to note is that the mammoth is not 100% game accurate as far minor details go, and nor is it to scale. Mega Bloks stated this fact in a video and the instructions offer a comparison. My verdict 10/10. Can't wait for upcoming Scarab to have something to match this impressive behemoth.
