Względnie cichy, solidny dysk do NASa
Potrzebowałem średniej wielkości dysk do domowego NASa, ten miał oceny i opłacalność.

Ora vediamo quanto dura.

Excellent deal and product
New purchases Aug 2026 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I purchased 2 more of these 8TB WD Red drives. One works perfectly. The other was DOA. Over the years I've bought numerous amounts of these WD Red drives and this was my very first DOA. However, giving Western Digital credit where it's due... I called Support yday. Got to speak to someone within about 60 seconds. Asian lady was very helpful and after explaining I'd tried the drive on 3 different systems (2 x Windows, 1 x Linux) and I could tell the drive was not even spinning up, she agreed the drive was defective and offered a Standard or Upgrade replacement. Standard... You return it, once received, a replacement is sent out within 7-10 business days Upgrade... You pay $25 (non-refundable) and they send you a new one immediately. They also keep your credit card on file and if you don't return the defect, they charge you accordingly. I opted for Standard as I'm in no immediate hurry so why pay $25. Within 10 minutes I received various emails noting my case number, registering the warranty, and finally she sent me a prepaid UPS label to return. The replacement is a certified (not new) drive. However its warranty starts now, meaning it has a 3 yr full warranty just like the NIB I purchased. At first I was kind of miffed about it but the more I thought about it, who cares... Drives generally either fail within a short space of time or they run for years. Having built many computers (personal and working for companies) and also having worked in the support side myself for manufacturers for years, I stand by my own past experiences. I should get a replacement drive back in about 2 weeks max. If there's a problem with that one, I'll update my review but I have always been pleased with WD drives. They have a much less failure rate than Seagates I've had experience with over the decades. So sticking at 5 stars, even though I have a DOA, because their support is outstanding. Try that with Seagate.... Original Update ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have a number of these drives in a server as well as in a NAS. I use them directly in a server for storage for a Media Center system. In the NAS they're powered up 24x7 whereas in the server they get powered up and down each day. I've not had any problems with them. The only reasons I keep buying them is because I'm upgrading from smaller capacity WD Red drives not because any of them have ever failed. This purchase was to create a USB backup device but I'm actually using it to replace a smaller 6TB drive instead. What made this even a better deal was buying it during the Amazon Prime Day and got a great discount on it. None the less, these NAS drives are solid and I now added them to other servers as Data drives (using SSD's for boot devices). Highly recommend them.
