Q: How thick is the waistband elastic seam? Is it about 1 inch or is it a wider style around 3 inches?

It's the usual 1 inch width. I love these leggings, have several in different colours.

Q: What denier would these leggings be? I'm looking for a sheer legging to wear as I would tights.

Don't know exactly but they must be something more than 60. Certainly not sheer.

Q: are the sizes correct because i have tried online sizes and failed at getting the size i want.

The size's are correct. If you want real comfort a size xl= size18/22. They stretch to fit your body. xl=31/32 inside leg.

Q: do they go baggy at the knees with wear?

THEY ARE RUBBISH . Lasted one wash then developed holes and seams split .
