*Why* change the formula? No longer the same product *at all*...
I began eating a plant-based diet in February 2019. I tried a few plant-based protein shakes and was underwhelmed, to put it mildly. Still, I figured drinking my daily protein shake wasn't meant to be delightful...until a colleague introduced me to this.It. Was. Amazing. I loved the chocolate. I loved the vanilla. I loved both with fruit. Made with ice and water. Made with ice and cashew milk. Made with ice and pea milk. And it didn't upset my stomach. Everything AAN claims in their advertisement, it was. Was.Flash forward to the end of the summer 2019 and I could not find it anywhere online. I even emailed the company via their website but got a bad email auto response. I figured the company couldn't keep up with demand and had gone under. And so I began my quest for a replacement.I discovered immediately, however, how rare this plant-based powder had been. Others were cloyingly and artificially sweet (too much stevia), and oh wow gritty. I hated drinking them so much I started slacking on my protein intake, which I know is bad. Then voila, AAN was back on Amazon!I ordered the vanilla, and even though it was clear they had changed the formula, it was still good. I went through that canister quickly, but returning to Amazon to order more, discovered vanilla was sold out and the chocolate was going fast. So I ordered a lot, just to stock up.Wow. The chocolate was AWFUL. AWFUL. Gritty and powdery, overly sweet, clumpy--everything AAN's advertisement claims about competitors' products. Worse, it was no longer easy on my tummy. I couldn't drink it. My colleague told me his was disgusting, too.I gave it one last shot when I saw vanilla back on Amazon. No more. I must have gotten an older batch of (good) vanilla with my previous order. This new batch is almost as vile as the chocolate, but maybe if I add enough fruit I can get it down-- if I can get past it bothering my digestion now.Overall, a real shame. It was once what they advertised. But I no longer trust this company's product--it's simply too costly to chance a bad batch.

Tastes great & mixes easy!
Being a recreational bodybuilder who consumes at least 5 -6 meals (4 food meals supplemented with 2 shakes) per day I realize all the animal based protein I consume may not be good for me... Therefore, for the last year or so I’ve been eating at least 1 or 2 vegan meals a day but I haven’t been able find a vegan protein that doesn’t taste like grass until now. I’ve tried like 10 different vegan pea based protein powders and they all pretty much taste like crap except this product... ActiveAllianceNutrition Vanilla Vegan protein not only taste great but also mixes easily too. I think because it’s an isolate it mixes better and doesn’t have that grassy plant taste... Plus I like the fact that there are only 5 or 6 different ingredients. Love this product and love the brand! I’ve been a fan of this brand since I discovered their whey protein a few years back. If you’re into sport nutritional supplementing like me and trying to cut back on animal based supplements I suggest trying AAN vegan BCAA too! Thanks AAN for bringing another great product to market!

EDIT: once my favorite, not anymore
EDIT:I haven’t ordered for a couple years after seeing it wasn’t on Amazon anymore. I randomly remembered and thought to look.... it was back! Ordered it and was so excited to have it again. Sadly, they reformulated (WHY?) and it now tastes like an average nasty veg. protein.FINALLY. After switching to plant based protein and trial and error for months I have finally found the protein I’ve been looking for. I’ve tried Vega, Orgain, Evolve, PEScience and a few other small brands off Amazon. This takes the cake. The texture is on point (if it sit for a while it thickens almost to a pudding like consistency ??), it mixes so nicely and it literally tastes like tapioca pudding... I mix w 10 oz of cashew milk.

Absolutely worth a try! Chocolate YES, Vanilla NOOOO!!!
I absolutely love this powder! Mixes well & even tastes great with water. I would have given it 5 stars but I found it to be very bland if you mixed it with too much water. I think if you're a person who likes SUBTLE flavors of protein shakes you will enjoy this. The taste is mild & I appreciate that. No aftertaste. Easy to digest. I definitely will be buying this again!Update:I absolutely LOVE the chocolate flavor but the Vanilla is AWFUL. It's so bland it almost tastes rotten. I was surprised because the chocolate was subtly flavored but tasty...the Vanilla is hard to get down.*New Flavor BANANA PEANUT BUTTER: AMAZING!!! By far the best tasting out of all. However the powder is very messy & fluffy so it makes a huge mess every time you try to scoop it which causes a lot of waste.

Good stuff
I just ordered this vegan protein powder in vanilla and have tried it once. I mixed it with water. I think it tastes somewhat like tapioca pudding. It is very light, unlike most vegan protein powders. It mixes easily, does not clump and doesn't have a grainy taste. This is the first vegan protein powder I have tried that is light rather than thick and granular. I look forward to trying the chocolate flavor.
