Please note I bought the $30 large style,which I can say is totally worth the price.It came packed in a large plastic bag inside a secure box,placed inside an outer Amazon box. (The plastic bag fills up most of the space in a full size paper grocery store bag.)The woody chunks are large enough to use in a planter, they were dry,no trace of mold,or moss.I know some people will think this is a little pricey for a plastic trash bag full of mulch,but this is the stuff you can get at a home improvement store just usually in huge amounts.It is the right amount to top off several container planters conveniently delivered to your door.I have ordered other kinds ofmulch that came in tiny expensive bags,and ended up being lightweight shredded crap.This stuff is real substantial wooden chunks of mulch.I highly recommend it,and would purchase it again...

Light weight and no funky smell. I wish they pack it in a little more sturdy plastic bag. It was all torn and I got such a messy box and had to scoop it up

It is a nice color and the size of the chips are a good size also. I ordered different bark and it was big chunks and didn't look as nice as Avalution bark. However, the bag I ordered did not cover the area that I have so I will have to order more.

I love purchasing orchids that are dying from retail stores and saving them. This substrate is wonderful and I love that you can buy whatever quantity you need.

The media could not be loaded. The product is all parts of outer tree layer including tree cambium, it’s not bark, but includes a minimum of actual bark. The box is the height of a 24 ounce not 36 quart size container and would only fit 12. 24 ounce containers so it’s far less than 18 quart sizes. No settling would not make up the difference because planting an orchid also requires settling in the planter. This is very flat wafer thin wood product and it would leave no air space for orchid roots. Don’t buy this!

This was great to help with my DIY mixes for my plants, alocasias, monsteras, prayer plants and more. Very necessary for a chunky mix.

High quality product, the bark is very nice and high quality. Just wish I had known how large the bark size would be. It is too to use in most of my potting soil.

I did read the reviews prior and they were mixed regarding size and of the pieces as well as how it was packaged and weight. I still ordered anyway and wish I had not. I didn't mind the open garbage as much and the size of the pieces were great but I paid for 9quarts and it didn't even fill a 6 quart container. Before shaking it a bit I would say it was between half and 3/4 full and after it settled it filled half of the 6 quart plastic container. Very unhappy as I now have to research another company and spend more money. I am not one to write bad reviews but half of a 6 quart container when I paid for 9quarts is just not good business and no response from the seller was the deciding factor on this review
