does the gasket comes off every time I open the lid?

No the gasket remains inside the lid within a given area. This is not a two piece lid like traditional Mason Jar lids. The gasket can be removed for cleaning. That said I was not happy with these lids. They leak unless you tighten them down so much they become very difficult to remove; especially if a hot substance creates a vacuum.

where are these made?

According to the packaging the company is in Canada and the tops are made in China.

Are they heat resistant?

Yes silicone is safe -50 to 500

Can silicone seals be purchased separately?

I bought normal metal inserts to use with these.
