A must-have for any curious people
Every kid (young and old) should look through a spectroscope at some stage in their life. In our office. we had recently replaced fluorescent tube lighting with LED lighting and there was a discussion about whether the quality of the light was better or worse. The LED lights seemed to have a greener tinge to them. This spectroscope clearly indicated that the difference was caused by the fact that the spectrum of light given off by the fluorescent tube lighting was in distinct, narrow bands, with an absence in the green part of the "rainbow". The spectrum of light from the LED lighting, however, was continuous.

Meh!
Well personally, I found it a little underwhelming. It does show a spectrum, but it is a fairly narrow band of colours that does not obviously differentiate between different light sources.

Low quality
I know it's cheap but qualitywise is just not there. Feeble tube low quality diffraction film. Buy film separately and make your own, more fun and probably better optically

Comment
A very basic spectrometer, as expected from the price. OK for fun use, but not for anything serious.

Displays spectrum
Displays spectrum but poorly. Useful for comparing differnt lamp/light sources.
