Doesn’t work
It worked for a bit then just stopped working for some reason, I assume its just a bad quality product. Wish I didnt waste my money.

Blu-ray and multiple ports on the go... though slow
Most of my computers no longer have optical drives, so it is nice to have one for the occasional network driver or to copy a disc, so I decide to give this a try. As a bonus, it has a built-in dock with many different types of ports. The drive itself is a Matshita BD-MLT UJ272, which can read and write most formats, though it is a bit slow. That's not unexpected for what is, effectively, a laptop drive. It does not, unfortunately, read 4K/UHD discs.I also found the dock ports to be a bit slow as well. In a pinch, though, they'll do.Overall, it works pretty well, so if you are not looking for something all that fast, this may be a good option.

Time to watch movies.
Compact external optical driver. Make it possible to watch my old blue rays and dvds on my Mac. Bought some 25gb blank blue ray discs but haven’t got chance to burn them.

frequent disappearance on Win 10 notebook
Like some others have said, there're problems with this 'Blu Ral Drive' staying connected to my Win 10 notebook using USB-C via the attached Y-cable. The extra USB-C cable doesn't work at all when plugged in my the notebook. The USB 2 connector on the Y-cable doesn't work at all when plugged into USB 2 port. It can't finish playing a CD and would stop and disappear from Windows. Unplugging and replugging the cable would re-establish connection, but that's no good for playing any disc. Same with DVD. Didn't even try Blu-ray. The USB hub works so I'm left with an expensive hub. I was going to return it but had to go to hospital so missed the deadline. Blah!Edit: Seller saw the above and quickly offered a full refund which I accepted. I tried using it thereafter but the same issue persisted. Now I ended up buying a Pioneer external BD UHD writer at almost three times the cost and it just works. The USB hub still works. I've revised the rating upwards.

Small, compact disc reader. Read all my CDs and DVDs.
The drive works well for CDs and DVDs. I had burned a lot of CDs and DVDs for data storage many years ago. Now, I wanted to move everything to my NAS and it read all the data effectively. It is quite small and perfect for portability. It can get loud and produce vibrations and the USB cord is quite short. It is a laptop drive put inside a cool tiny housing with USB ports and so good to bring it out when needed.Worked flawlessly in both windows and linux.

computer does not recognize device / windows 10 pro
Great idea with lots of options for many media - but my computer rarely recognizes that the device is plugged in when using a disc. Have tried USB and C and multiple ports on my computer. Sometimes the device will be visible after a reboot. Unplugging the USB cable and plugging back in does not seem to help. The green light on the player will go on and I can hear it spinning up - but still does not show up on my computer. It does recognize when I use an SD card. Which is why I didn't realize the CD/DVD/BR drive part was not working for several months.

Awesome Transfer Rate
This little portable player brings quality to my Blu-ray discs. I primarily use this for playing my discs on the road. My laptop picks the player up quickly and the video playback is great. I am not sure why but the decibel level of the disc spinning is much quieter than my previous version (unexpected plus). The price is right in line with other brands so I feel that there is a good 'bang for the buck' for the player. I haven't used the burn feature so I can't speak to that but I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't meet/exceed my expectations.

HOURUNTAIL Externes Blu ray Laufwerk

Always freezes when ripping DVDs
Tried to rip several DVDs but they always got stuck at 10%. Was able to rip those same DVDs in a different external drive without any issues. So the problem was definitely with this Houruntail drive. Had to return it as being defective.
