SMILING WORM FORMULA 3 is a blend recommended by the Orchid Society of America. Unlike pine bark, it's very soft so orchid roots easily attach to the chips and can draw the moisture and nutrients stored from watering and feeding. These coco husk chips are irregular shapes so that they do not tend to cling together. This encourages good air flow and drainage. The sizes are slightly variable. We add a generous amount of coconut shell charcoal which ensures excellent drainage. Our virgin charcoal has not had a previous life which may have involved glues, chemicals, fuels or resins. No trees are stripped or felled for this product as coconut trees crop year round. No machines are used in washing, drying, blending or packing this product. We use real people. Finally, we include a free sample bottle of our organic orchid food concentrate. Not only does it feed your plants, it also helps them to recover faster from the shock of being re-potted. It's essential to have fresh coco husk chips for maximum performance. Since coconuts do not grow in the UK, you have no way of knowing how long pre-bagged coco husk chips have been sitting in an overseas production plant or warehouse before arriving for sale.
