Poulan Pro PR174Y22RHP, 22 in. 174cc Briggs & Stratton 3-in-1 Walk Behind Front-Wheel-Drive Mower

Very cheaply made. Front wheel adjuster broke within 5 minutes of using! Starts up on first pull and cuts well. Bottom skirt seems to be cut short so a lot of grass cuttings come out from bottom. You get what you pay for.After 4 uses the self propelled stopped working. The dealer list that Poulan provides is very out of date. some won't do warranty service some out of business. After finding a dealer it cost me 75.00 to tell me there was dirt in it and everything is ok. Really expected more from the mower

This mower is AWESOME!!!!! I was able to assemble the mower, start it, and miw my yard ONE HANDED! Yup I had hand surgery I was able to put this together one handed, It is hands down one of the best mowers I've ever used. I had a small bent in the adjustment lever but Steve and Daniel at Poulan customer service had a local service companycome by pick it up and then drop it off from my house all free of charge no questions asked I don't know why everybody so negative I had an absolutely wonderful experience and I'm turning around and buying more Poulan products woohoo

Just as several reviewers pointed out, this came damaged (looks like a manufacturer's defect as the shipping box was undamaged). The front wheel adjustment was severely bent causing the wheel itself to be damaged too. Back it went and I wasn't going to risk the same problem so I upgraded to the push start Poulan which we really love for it's ease of starting and overall great performance (used it at least 20 times since we received it)  Poulan Pro 22 in. 174cc Power Series Gas 3-N-1 Lawnmower, PR174Y22RHPE

I stand by my first statement (below), but had to drop my rating from four to two stars because of the hair-pulling frustration I've had finding the proper air filter for this mower. In my hours of searching online and box part stores it was as if the mower and the Briggs and Stratton motor never even existed. THIS INCLUDED CALLING POULAN AND BRIGGS AND STRATTON DIRECTLY! They were absolutely no help whatsoever.I finally found a thread that led me from one part number to another to another until I landed on "Rato Powerstroke Earthquake Viper RV150 Engine Air Cleaner 17150-Z180220-0000". I ordered three through Amazon, just in case. Good thing I did, because Amazon is stating that it's now "unavailable." Ugh. If you find the part number through another supplier, buy a few of them. It seems like (as soon as I go through my three air filters anyway) my one year old mower is pretty much obsolete. Shame be upon you Poulan AND Briggs and Stratton!Previous Review:Like some other reviewers have stated, one wheel adjustment was bent on arrival, but with a pair of pliers I fixed that pretty easily. I've used the mower four or five times now and it works great. Starts on the first pull, is easily emptied when using the bag, and and the controls are easy to use as well. They should address the packaging issues to prevent any possible damage, but as for the mower itself, it's a great one.

Lawn mower arrived with one bent front wheel. The metal wheel holder is bent a bit and wheel does a small ‘8’ instead of being straight. Also, the adjustment lever for the same wheel is really bent and is not being held in place. It keeps popping off as soon as you start to roll the mower.I expected a better quality for $300 since I can go to local Home Depot and get a good Honda or Briggs lawn mower without any defects. Really poor quality control from Poulan Pro... Just like others said - front wheels come damaged right out of the box. The box looked normal and everything looked intact but as soon as I opened it I was presented with a defect... It tells me that ISO quality control very poor and is not up to standards.I did buy Poulan Pro string trimmer and a hedge trimmer adjustment to go with it. These were really good but I should have listened to reviews regarding their lawnmowers...Will see how their customer service responds.

This is a really good mower. I received mine without damage, It fired on the first pull. My 9 year old mower broke its transmission and my grass got pretty tall. This mower went right through it without a grunt. I believe the damaged wheels and such have happened after the mower was packed in its box. Could have happened in a truck or possibly a stack of them fell over at the warehouse. This doesn't mean that Poulan is a bad company. I had a chainsaw made by them that could take a lot of punishment and it was very rugged. Maybe that's why some Jerk stole it from me

We just opened the box on Sunday and put the mower together. Where you raise the wheel on one side the metal slot that hooks up over the wheel was damaged during delivery and it won’t engage to raise the wheel. This is a brand new mower that we just opened and we can’t use it because the metal piece is sprung and won’t engage to raise the wheel. We need this part re-placed.This is the front wheel part that I am speaking of.If you are in front of the mower it is on the left side.
