Buffalo Games Dowdle, Outer Banks, 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle for Adults

I bought this puzzle for my mom while she was recovering from surgery, and it turned out to be the perfect gift. She finished it in about three days and kept saying how much fun she had with it. She said it had everything she loves in a puzzle: bright colors, lots of variety, little characters, different houses, and tons of fun details throughout. It kept her interested the whole way through and never got boring. The pieces were great quality, easy to work with, and fit together well. The finished puzzle is a great size and looks amazing all put together. She’s even thinking about framing it now that it’s done. It gave her something relaxing and enjoyable to focus on while she healed, and honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better gift. I’ll definitely be buying more from this series. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something colorful, detailed, and satisfying to complete.

Beautiful, well made puzzle. Pieces are sturdy, fit together well and the colors are vibrant. Truly enjoyed putting this one together. Highly recommend.

For rainy days, it is a fun, good size puzzle that is not overly complex, yet still challenging and relatively EZ to assemble for you and your family!

It’s a nice puzzle.

Love the size of the puzzle because it's manageable. Lately I have experienced over-sized puzzle pieces which leads to unwieldy puzzles with borders that barely fit my puzzle board. If you don't mind smaller pieces, this is a good option for you. There were a few pieces that seemed to go in multiple spots but it wasn't so many that I got frustrated and gave up on the brand. I would consider another puzzle of this manufacturer.

Perfect rainy day activity for our annual family trip to the Outer Banks!

We enjoy puzzles by Dowdle. Shipped fast and great price.

A big issue I had with this puzzle was that pieces fit in more than one spot, and because the pieces are fairly small, and the pictures are very small and detailed, it can be hard to tell if you have the pieces in the right place at times. It was especially difficult with some of the blue water pieces, and even the edge pieces. I had thought there may have been an error in the pieces provided, but by spending time pulling pieces off that I'd already assembled, and looking for similar shapes that might be in other parts of the puzzle, I was finally able to fully complete the puzzle. In fact, I had about a 1/2 inch gap down the center of the puzzle for about 2/3 of the puzzle, even though I could see the pieces should all fit together, so I knew there must be an issue with pieces fitting in multiple spaces, & I did not look forward to figuring that part out. I suspect this may have been the issue with other people who wrote reviews thinking pieces were missing or extras supplied. I find that to be very frustrating in a puzzle. On the positive side: 1) I LOVED the picture! It is busy, but that helps in finding where pieces go, and made it interesting, once you got familiar with the overall scene. 2) Mine did come with a poster. Some wrote they did not get one. You ABSOLUTELY need a poster, as the details are so small, there is no way to use the picture on the box as a guide for most of it. The poster was a huge blessing. 3) The poster also had numbered items on the picture, and descriptions of what they were. I found this very appealing, as I am not familiar with this beach, and enjoyed the bit of history, and he even included a friend that just graduated. A nice touch to have the numerated details, as I like to know background stories and history. 4) I found much of this puzzle fairly easy to assemble, since there were so many little unique details in the picture; the most difficult was the water, and even the edge pieces (the blue water section), as pieces fit easily in multiple places. I am not looking for extremely challenging puzzles -- I just want to relax with them, so I would have given this a 5 star rating, if it were not for the pieces fitting in multiple spots. (1-2 stars for the puzzle cutting design). 5) The puzzle was relatively dust-free --- much appreciated! I would have thoroughly enjoyed this puzzle as one of my favorites, if it were not for the pieces fitting into multiple spots. If that kind of challenge doesn't bother you, then I recommend buying this puzzle. I am torn on whether to keep this puzzle, or give it away, as I am not sure I'd want to piece it together again, with the puzzle-fitting issue.

We sure appreciated the quality of Mr. Dowdle’s puzzle. Vibrant colour and so many fun little people etc. pieces fit well and the subject keeps us interested. A puzzle person will truly enjoy this one!!

Fun puzzle to do with pieces that fit together properly.

What a great puzzle, good quality, no puzzle dust, lovely design, and putting those little houses together felt so rewarding. There are so many things going on in the puzzle, it is definitely one of my favorites

Esperienza davvero deludente.
