Bought for a mac mini m4. Easy to install thew drive and the speeds are great. I found that they were a touch faster than the base mac mini m4 internal drive (approx 3000 read and write speeds).The case is very robust, however the cable that it is shipped with is complete garbage. It drops the read/write speed significantly down to 2000 or so!Used another cable I had and got the speeds I was expecting.Just be aware you will possibly need to buy a cable to replace the one that comes with it (by all means speed test yourself first, I may have just got a dodgy cable!)

I've had a Zike enclosure, the first of the new generation of fast enclosures using the ASM2464 chip, for over a year. It has performed flawlessly with my Mac M2 Studio using a 4TB Lexar SSD.I bought a new Zike a couple of weeks ago - it failed to mount. Zike sent me a replacement - that also failed to mount. I returned both.I bought an Acasis Enclosure with fan (model TBU405PROM1) - this worked fine but was only 1/3 of the speed of the Zike as it lacked the ASM2464 chip and my Mac saw it as USB3 rather than Thunderbolt/USB4. I returned it.This Satechi drive has IDENTICAL electronics to the Zike (both come up as Satechi on the Mac System Report). Initially it worked fine (as good as the original Zike). Then it just continually disconnected. I've returned this too.Maybe I'm just unlucky - or maybe there are some serious quality control issues around the ASM2464 chip.I've just ordered a UGREEN enclosure - similar specs, but with a fan. Wish me luck.

I recently upgraded my Mac Mini but wanted more storage capacity. I could have bought one with 2Tb memory but this enclosure with a fast NVME 4Tb card was a LOT cheaper than even the 2Tb onboard option and does everything I want. Definitely recommended.

I Bought this Enclosure after I saw a review on youtube that a reviewer is saying this Satechi USB 4 ssd Enclosure gives 3300mb/s speed. This enclosure is not working. Don’t Buy it. Buy from any other manufacturer.
