It works, and I honestly didn't think it would!
Our Maltese-Yorkie mix is extremely anxious during thunderstorms and whenever fireworks are going off in the area. She even stops and refuses to continue walking if a car door slams when we take her on a walk. Her typical behavior during a storm includes crouching low to the ground, crawling around looking for a place to hide, shivering uncontrollably (no matter who is holding or trying to comfort her), and panting. Our vet even prescribed an anti-anxiety medicine for her, but we were reluctant to try it because of the side effects. At any rate, I reluctantly bought the ThunderShirt thinking I would just get ready to request a return label when it didn't work for her. We put it on, and she immediately started shivering (oh no), but settled down within five minutes. Later in the day, we experienced one of those terrible FL afternoon thunderstorms, so I put it back on her. Instead of her normal behavior of completely freaking out, she calmly sat on the top of the couch like she normally does on any other sunny day. She was relaxed and calm. I still kept the packing/box for a return, thinking it was just a fluke, but then last night was the 4th of July. All I have to say is the ThunderShirt is the most AMAZING thing ever and we feel like the worst doggie parents for not getting it sooner. Our dog climbed into bed despite the extremely loud noises of multiple families shooting off fireworks and the loud booms of a local park shooting the professional, super loud fire works. The noise went on for well over two hours last night, and she was as calm as could be. I can't believe it. Our wrapping went in the trash as we will NEVER return our ThunderShirt, and will most likely purchase a second one because I don't want to ever be without one again. What an amazing, unexpected blessing for our little dog!

This one fit perfect. Use the attached size chart (with measurements) to ...
We have a chihuahua that has anxiety issues, nervous licking, startled by noises, etc. We rescued her from the side of busy freeway and after checking for a micro-chip (there was none) and posting flyers at the local animal shelters (no one claimed her), we added her to our family. This shirt works wonders for her when she starts to display the anxiety issues. We put this on her and she calms right down. The only issue we had was going off of the size chart that is listed with the item. We originally bought the XXS size based off of the chart showing that it was meant for dogs 7 lbs and under (Our dog is @5 lbs). When it arrived, I went to put if on her and it was too small. I returned it and ordered the next size up - XS. This one fit perfect. Use the attached size chart (with measurements) to get an approximate size for your dog. The second two are Daisy rockin' her Thundershirt, the second of which is a nervous yawn. She's not leaping off the table to tear off my arm............

Does nothing for my dog
We have tried EVERYTHING to help our 11-year-old dog's crippling anxiety. Behavior therapy, aromatheraphy, pheromone diffusers, calming treats, leaving classical music playing for her, and even a daily xanax prescription. Unfortunately, nothing works, and she becomes an absolute hurricane of destruction any time she is mildly afraid, unhappy, or unattended for .5 seconds. This is problematic as she can houdini her way out of ANYTHING designed to contain her; seriously, a few weeks ago, she tore down an entire wall of our house one time when we tried letting her have a room to herself when we were out.Because nothing's been working and the problems have only grown since moving to our new house, we finally bit the bullet and decided to buy a Thundershirt. I have used off-brand garments like this in the past to no effect. Our destructo-dog eventually just gets them off and shreds them. I was loathe to drop $30-$40 on another rag for her to chew up, but we found one used "like new" for much less and decided it was worth trying the actual name brand.Yeah... no. Unfortunately, this does absolutely nothing for her. At first she was maybe a little more still for a few minutes, but I'm pretty sure that's just because she felt squashed and was reacting as most dogs do to restrictive clothing: paralyzed. I was hopeful for a second. Then the first mild rain showers came a few hours later, and so did my dog's whining, pacing, and tantrum-throwing. We have to crate her at night (and secure every corner/edge of the crate with metal clips) as her nervous behavior prevents us from sleeping if she's in our bedroom, and you would think that I was killing her when I put her to bed at night, even with a Thundershirt and her anxiety meds. She will scream loudly enough to wake the dead if you try to coerce her into the crate. And trust me, we have tried EVERYTHING and seen the vet numerous times to address these issues; when I got her years ago, she was classified as "previously neglected or abused," so unfortunately her issues are deeply ingrained.I'm still keeping this shirt around on the off-chance that it might at least bring her down from a 52 (on a scale of 1-10) to a 50 during a major fireworks display or thunderstorm, but I can say that this has not been the lifeline so many suggest it is for our dog. I would not recommend shelling out the big bucks for something that may work for milder cases, but is just another disappointment for desperate owners with wild pups.

Blondi, the Labrador
I have a wild blond Labrador of 2 years not. She has been wild every since I brought her home. She was the last one to be sold of her litter. I sent her to obedience school and it helped for a awhile, but gets very jealous of my other dogs. I have to send her to doggie day school just to get a break. And then I saw your jackets. Never heard of them, but I didn't waste time buying one, and bought another, and plan to buy another one. They calm and calmed her right down. I took it off this last time when I sent her to day care and her report card read that she played her death to death. She slept for 2 days afterwards.

A bit of magic in a little jacket.....
I purchased this for a new puppy at new year, thinking it would help with noise if fireworks. We where having a little bit of trouble with her waking to any noise during the night and becoming irritated, we tried the jacket and as if by magic she slept for the full night,We use it if epwe think she is particularly annoyed at something and it works wonders, she has no problems during thunder storms. This jacket is very well made, nice fabric and no hard edges for her to harm herself.Bit tricky to put on for first few times, but I would highly recommend this product

Brilliant
We were sceptical to be honest. Millie has Episodic Falling Syndrome and although she has improved in last 2 years and is now able to go for walks she still has fits when confronted with traffic, people or dogs. Popped the coat on not really expecting much difference but she was brilliant. Next walk even better. She went over to people and allowed herself to be stroked and wasn't concerned with other dogs. Amazing success from a dog who just a week before had had to be carried home she was so stressed Definitely worth trying for a terrified dog.

We loved that this was pink too
An improved design from the original ones, and it has worked very well for our mini-jack russell terrier. If your dog is an average size JRT, then i would advise a size S rather than XS. We loved that this was pink too!

Fantastic product, and it works!
Excellent quality and perfect fit for my little Westie. Does exactly what it says on the tin, so to speak. Amazing calming and soothing effect almost straight away each time she wears it and it's a really well made jacket. Tested during recent fireworks and she will actually fall asleep in it, usually she is terrified of the noises and cannot settle. Very highly recommend and well worth the money. Just wish we had known about Thundershirt sooner.

This has worked a great for my cocker spaniel who hates firework season.Once she has this on it doesn’t take too long for her to settle.
