I recently purchased the Launch CRP129X OBD2 Scan Tool, and I have been thoroughly impressed with its performance and features. This Launch scanner is pretty powerful for the price. I have used it for more basic diagnosis and checks, but going through digging deep in the functions, there is a lot of capability here. I have some of the cheaper $50-150 scanners and this thing offers WAY more than those. The way that it’s laid out is a little confusing to navigate but once you get used to it, not bad at all. There are some YouTube videos that help if you’re real confused. The instructions are decent too but I prefer the videos.

Well worth the money ,it will definitely save the DIY mechanic money it works as described It takes alittle playing with it to get use to the different options just be patient like when you get a new phone once you figure it out you will see it's a great diagnostic scanner tool.

The screen is a bit small, but overall it's OK

The battery gets drained very quickly while in storage. When you have to use it, you have to connect the charging cable. It won't turn on until it gets charged at least to abut 4%. One would think it should start once the power is applied to it, but that's not how it works. You have to wait approximately 45 minutes. But once it turns on, it really is a great diagnostic tool. The update feature is very handy too. The 16 pin connector on the OBD cable is flimsy though. Its protective cap is useless, keeps on falling off. Also, the LAUNCH branch of USA is not honoring the warranty if you run into the situation. You'll have to buy their scanners in the US to be able to do so. But that is much more expensive.

The same day I received mine I updated it and was able to diagnose a transmission problem, it has a lot of expandable features for more of an "expensive scan tool" sort of feel, for DIY it is great, for a beginner it is a great start but for the professional tech it lacks features in the included software, you can add features as needed to expand its abilities as well and it is very easy to do so and update the tool itself.

I was skeptical at first but this has turned out to be a great scanner. I’ve even let my family members borrow this thing and I love how easy it is to use. Love, the fact that I can email diagnosis and codes to myself or anyone else. The performance and features out way the cost for sure. Also the light weight and size of this is perfect. My hands are not getting tired of holding it like some of my older scanners. Great buy for sure.

I figured id get one of these to diagnose my check engine light. This thing is great it covers approximately 10,000 cars from 1996 to 2024. It covers 8 hot services like tpms and oil reset, bms,sas etc. It come with a nice case and the necessary cords. I Was able to see that i had an intermediate O2 sensor check engine light. The option to check dtc or trouble codes is awesome and you can look them up. The ease of use with this car scanner is really user friendly , if you have used one of these before I'm sure it would be intuitive I'll definitely be adding this to my toolbox

I have not had a chance to use this yet, but I am a bit upset to find that there is a subscription required for full features. It comes with 2 years, but after that it is over $200 per year. Unit seems solid and easy to use. I have now communicated with the vendor and they are promising that the lifetime subscription is included with the product. I guess I will find out for sure in 2 years. I have not used this on 2 vehicles and I am very satisfied with the unit. My son is an autobody technician and he thinks it is better than the products they have in the last 2 shops he has been in. Scans and provides useful information. Even links to videos about the error codes right on the screen. Can email diagnostics to yourself. I am happy with the purchase. I did have to reach out to the vendor regarding the free gift, it is now on it's way to me.

Really poor manual with it, you pretty well have to figure it out. Once you do I really like how it displays and navigates. Unfortunately i have had two which i had to return because the battery drops to 20% in a week or two and now I have to return a third because it shows 100% battery power but won't boot up. After messing with power button it eventually comes on but it seems pretty unreliable in that regard.

Nice screen seems need subscription to access 2018 and up fca reset procedures lile throttle learn more of a code reader than a scan tool will return this and get something up the line, used launch before and liked them, the 129x not a bad tool just not right for me

Overpriced and mostly useless

Great for obd2 but doesn't do any abs
