Seems to be dead-on accurate and worth the money
I just got this scale. I gave it a few tests, but will update this review after a few more weeks of usage. So far, this thang is 100 % accurate. I tested it with some dumbells, cans of food, and other items that had confirmed, exact weights. The scale is very accurate, and provides the SAME result each time. I mixed things up a bit, changing dumbells and cans around in different configurations, to ensure that the scale wasn't "remembering" a previous reading. It gives the same reading for the same collection of objects even when given differently-weighted stuff to weigh in between readings. That is all you can ask for from a scale - accuracy. It is accurate. Note: some of the reviews below talk about the scale measuring to the 10th of a pound. That isn't correct - it measures to the 0.2 of a pound. Of course, anyone (like myself) buying an expensive scale probably has bigger fish to fry on the dieting front than worrying about .1 vs .2 pound resolution. This scale feels solid and well-made -- I mean really solid and durable. Sure, it's expensive, no denying that. Just remember that if you're trying to lose weight, two things you absolutely must have are an accurate body scale and an accurate food/kitchen scale. No long term project can succeed without measurement and monitoring of the results. It's worth the money to be able to measure and monitor weight-loss very accurately and to have confidence in the measurements. My previous scale would give me 3 different results if I got on the scale three times in succession, and none of the results mapped to my doctor's scale. This one gives the same result each time - we'll have to see about how it maps to the doctor scale, but from my tests, my sense is that if it doesn't map to the doctor scale, it's the doctor who needs a new scale. This baby is dead-on. UPDATE 12/6: OK, my wife and I have now been using and testing this scale for six days. This thing is, simply, amazingly accurate. Successive readings are ALWAYS exactly the same. You can take 10 readings in a row and they will all be the same - not "close", but the "same". You can alternate people on successive readings to try to throw it off, but that doesn't work. It still gives the exact correct weight for each person. If you put on a sweater that weighs 1.2 pounds, it will read exactly 1.2 pounds heavier when you get back on the scale. When you take the sweater off, it'll deduct exactly 1.2 pounds on the next reading. There is no way to shake this scale off its game - it's very precise. This is the best scale I've ever owned, the first one I've had confidence in, and the first time I could honestly say I was "happy" about a bathroom scale. Throw out whatever you have (unless it's a high-end doctor scale, like with the little sliding weights) and buy this one. This definitely goes in the "you get what you pay for" category.

Accurate & Simple
Tanita, when you want accuracy. This scale is the new improved version, that has a larger footpad for the guys, and yet (with smaller feet) I can step anywhere on the foot pad and get the accurate reading…every time. I can read the large digital 2” screen weight without my glasses. I like the simple design that fits well in the corner of the water closet. If you’ve ever been shocked that your weight is up 4 lbs, then rechecked with a completely different weight, you’ll understand why Tanita is the best seller for decades.

Get this Tanita scale! Finally, a scale that isn’t junk!
A very short review by someone who has reviewed a lot of electronic devices over the years: Stop your scale shopping and buy this Tanita scale! This is the real deal. It’s built like they used build things—to last. It doesn’t have a bunch of high tech functions—most of which on other scales can’t be trusted. It has five separate memory buttons and can remember the previous weight of up to five people. It weighs to a tenth of a pound, and it also measures in kilograms and stone. The LCD isn’t backlit, but it’s large enough and easy to read. The scale has a solid plastic top, but underneath, the base is metal. Remember when they made items from metal? Pay the extra money. It’s worth it. Other scales today last a couple years and die for no good reason. This won’t. Do something good for yourself and get a high-quality scale that’s accurate and does one thing exceptionally well and not 15 things miserably.

Accurate and beautiful
This scale looks good on the bathroom floor! But, that isn't why I most like it. A huge plus is that it's always on zero and ready to go when it is turned on. There is no stooping down and dialing it to zero and tapping it before weighing yourself on it (like all the other scales we've owned in the past). Five buttons, one for each person in the family, "remember" different weights. This allows each one of us to see what we weighed the last time we stepped on the scale in addition to our current weight. The platform is big so you won't feel like you have to balance on the scale in a small area. The numbers are large and clear and can be easily seen even in a well-lighted or sunny bathroom. It's light in weight and is easy to lift and move to another spot when cleaning. This is the nicest bathroom scale I've ever owned and I'm glad I found it.

Exactly What I Hoped It Would Be
I spent a lot of time deciding which scale to order. I'm a runner and have been trying to steadily lose weight to get my personal record in a 5k and 10k. In order to do that, I'm trying to gradually get down to a running weight that will help me shave off seconds on my PR. In any event, this Tanita scale won me over because I read multiple reviews on reputable sites about how accurate but also, perhaps more importantly, how precise this scale is. Here's what I like about this scale: PROS: 1) Super accurate and precise 2) Very good looking white color and design (this mattered more for my wife than for me) 3) Made by a manufacturer with a strong reputation Here's what I don't love, but can live with: CON 1) All weight measurements are recorded (there is no option to weigh yourself and not record it- this would be useful for people who don't want the next person to step on the scale know what their weight is) I've used this scale for the past 2 weeks and I can tell that it is spot on. My old scale was just terrible; it was all over the place. Not having a precise scale can really sap your motivation, especially when you are working out hard and being vigilant with your diet. This scale is always right on. For example, if I drink a bunch of water or use the restroom, the scale adjusts accordingly and it changes in increments of .2 lbs. I almost ordered the EatSmart Digital Precision scale because it was cheaper and had tons of positive reviews. What ultimately swayed me to order this scale was reputation of the maker (Tanita). Because Tanita makes commercial scales in doctors' offices, I figured that the precision and accuracy of this scale was worth the extra $. I almost splurged and got the Health-o-meter 349KLX 2-piece scale, but figured that our little guy would probably tamper with the attached piece and break it. This scale was right in the middle of those two scales pricewise and I am very, very happy with the purchase.

Very Functional and Accurate Scale
The scale has five buttons along the edge. You tap a button with your toe and the button number comes on the screen for a couple seconds. Then the screen goes to 0.0 on the large numbers and your previous weight on the smaller numbers below that. You step on the scale and it shows your current weight. The next time you use it, that number will show as your previous weight. It takes a couple seconds for the screen to clear and be ready for the next weighing. You can use the five buttons for five different people. Or if you want, you can use more than one button for yourself. Say, one for "morning weight" and one for "evening weight." The scale has a large surface to stand on. More than a foot square. But it's also very thin, so cabinet doors will open over it, etc. It's very accurate. I put a 20 lb. dumbell on it and it said 20.0. Then I weighed myself while holding two 20 lb. dumbells. I weighed exactly 40.0 lbs more than when I wasn't holding the dumbells. Good enough. This is just what I was looking for... a no nonsense, accurate scale that remembers my previous weight. I like it.

Not expensive but seems quite accurate
It is sturdy, seems quite accurate. I love the fact that there is no way to connect this to apps on the phone because we are using this for blind weight checks for someone recovering from ED. Only downside is that when we try to check the weight 2 times in a row, the interval between 1st and 2nd weight checks are about 30 seconds.

Most accurate scale ever!
As someone on a weight loss journey, it’s really important to me that my scale tells me the truth - and this is the only one that consistently tells me the correct number, no huge fluctuations in a few minutes, and so for that reason alone I highly recommend. This is the only scale I trust to weigh daily. The other benefits: seeing your last weight when you step on, the multi-profile abilities, the number stays on for awhile so I can enter it into my tracker, and I’ve found it even stays accurate when you move the scale between rooms. The only thing I wish it had was a backlight - I weigh first thing in the morning like most folks and I have to use a flashlight to see it because I don’t want to turn the room light on. One thing not good/not bad but to know is that it is larger than any other scale I’ve used. There’s also sort of a sinking feeling when stepping on it that I had to get used to. But overall love love love - I dont use any other scale and I couldnt be on this weight loss journey without it!

Here's a very accurate home scale
Bought this one on chance and discovered one of the best bathroom scales I have seen. Well made, great design and not too costly. It has individual memory for up to five people, displays the last reading for comparison, and resets every time it's used.

Great quality, feels solid when standing on it and ...
Great quality, feels solid when standing on it and I get the same weight time after time even if it's not in the exact same spot on the floor... I love having the five different trackers, and it's simple design... The platform is large enough to be comfortable to stand on (even for someone near the max weight limit), yet it's not so large that you can't tuck it away or in a corner... Very happy with it and would buy it again...

A quality instrument
More consistent than our old scale, but still varies by 0.2 lbs from time to time. Very pleased with the quality.
